Penny Black Frozen Vista

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with new products from Penny Black’s Season of Hope Collection.

Penny Black Frozen Vista

  • To begin, I applied Distress Oxide inks to Bristol board.
  • I stamped the 30-736 Frozen Vista image in black. The stamp set includes two window pane images.
  • I heat-embossed the 30-736 Frozen Vista sentiment on white cardstock from which I cut the opening using a die in the 51-698 Frozen Vista Cut Out set.
  • I added the frame over the inked and stamped image.
  • I added snowflakes cut from white cardstock with a die in the 51-080 Around Town set.

Penny Black Frozen VistaI particularly like window scene. One of my favorite Christmas motifs is Santa in the sky over a landscape.

Thanks for visiting!

Spellbinders Haunted Manor

Hello! I am sharing a CAS, elegant, Halloween-themed card created with Spellbinders products. The card combines two of my favorite techniques: die-cutting and glimmer-foiling. I am also sharing info below about a sale on Spellbinders Past Club Kits.

Spellbinders Haunted Manor

  • I cut the Haunted Manor from black cardstock and backed it with metallic cardstock.
  • I cut the frame using a die in the Nested Clipped Squares set from a patterned paper rectangle and backed it with metallic cardstock for the card base. I cut a smaller clipped square from another piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the center of the opening.
  • I glimmer foiled the sentiment using the Spooking Greetings set in Gold. I cut the strip using a die in the Everyday Sentiments II set. I adhered the strip to the card base.
  • I added the assembled manor to the center of the opening with foam adhesive.
  • I cut the bats from black glitter paper with dies in the Witch on Broom set and added them to the scene with foam adhesive.

What I like about this card: I like the elegant take on Halloween and the pairing of the patterned papers with black and gold. I like this Stampin’ Up Halloween paper so much that I bought more!

Penny Black – Adorn

Hello! Today I am sharing another card created with die sets in the just-released Penny Black collection – Season of Hope. This CAS holiday card took only a few minutes to assemble.

Penny Black - Adorn

  • The star of the card is the ornament created with the 51-666 Adorn set. I backed the ornament, cut from red foil, with white cardstock. I cut its topper from silver foil and added silver twine to the assembly.
  • I cut the 51-670 Bountiful Berries from white glitter paper. (I’m planning on using this die again to cut a branch from tan, green, or white cardstock and add Nuvo drops for the berries.
  • I cut the sentiment from silver foil using the 51-698 Frozen Vista Cut Out set. For additional depth, I backed the silver foil with the sentiment also cut from white cardstock.
  • I added the branch, sentiment, and ornament (popped up with foam adhesive) to a card base covered with patterned paper.
  • I embellished the scene with snowflakes cut from glitter cardstock using dies in the 51-268 A Blizzard and 51-080 Around Town sets.

Penny Black - Adorn

I was originally planning to add light blue ink to a white cardstock panel for the background, as I did on this card; however, it felt too plain. I had the patterned paper out for a different project and liked how the red ornament popped against the blue snowflake pattern.
