My Favorite Things – Snowman Stenciled Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS snowman-themed card created with a combination of My Favorite Things products, including the recently released Pine Tree Forest stencil.

To begin, I applied Transfer Gel through the Pine Tree Forest stencil on to the A2-sized green cardstock panel. Once dry, I ran the panel through my Minc with white flock. This is the first time I’ve used the flock product and found it incredibly easy to use.
I cut the snowman with the Joy Filled Die-namics set. Once assembled, I added him to a panel dry-embossed with a Taylored Expressions embossing folder. I added a white mat behind the red rectangle, as the transition from the red to the green was too harsh.
I heat-embossed the sentiment strip and added it to the card front.

While I used traditional Christmas colors – red and green – it would be easy to make this a friendship, winter-themed card by changing out either the green or the red, or both! Or to reinforce the Christmas theme, I could have used a more Christmassy sentiment rather than “Let It Snow.”

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit – Our Favorite Font Sentiment Set

Hello! Today, I am sharing two cards created with the December Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Our Favorite Font Sentiment Set.”The set includes fourteen word dies, in a versatile font, with which you can create a variety of expressions for a number of occasions such as: “Thinking of You,” “With Sympathy,” “Birthday Wishes to You,” and “Congrats to You,” as well as the more obvious “Thank You,” “Love You,” and “Happy Birthday.”

My first card is a Valentine, which includes several other Spellbinders sets, on which I used the “Love You” sentiment.

I’ve combined the Tux set (he’s still wearing a scarf but I removed his ear muffs) with the First Crush die set (balloon). I created the heart panel with the largest die in the Nestabilities Class Heart set. The card measures 4 1/2″ square.

My second card is a Thank You note on which I combined the sentiment with the Butterfly Frame-A-Long die set.

I dry-embossed the background (measuring 4 1/4″ square) with the Pretty Plaid embossing folder. I created a frame by adhering the butterfly/flower strips together at the corners; I then added the flower overlays, cut from yellow cardstock. I glued pearls to the centers of the flowers for embellishment.

Penny Black – All is Bright

Hello and Happy December! I’m playing along with the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Say Stamp, whose theme this week is “Anything Goes.” I’ve created a card with Penny Black supplies using one of my favorite card motifs – the window. I have envisioned a winter evening.

To begin, I heat-embossed the #30-387 Festive Snippets sentiment on white cardstock in silver. Next I cut the #51-135 Ironwork Window above the heat-embossing. The window die does not cut the outside lines, so I then used a rectangle die to cut the rectangle.
I’ve placed two lanterns behind the window, which were cut with the #51-275 Winter Lantern die set. I cut the lanterns from foil cardstock and white cardstock. I colored the white cardstock with Copic markers and added them behind the silver die-cuts (I snipped away the candles).
I stamped the background with the #40-706 Snowflake Pattern stamp. I have been using a lot of dark blue this holiday season. Not sure what that’s all about!
I backed the window with the same cardstock as the background, but without the snowflakes, and added the assembled panel to the background.

Penny Black – Winter Church (Take Two)

Hello! I am sharing another holiday card featuring the Penny Black #51-569 Winter Church die set, this time paired with the #40-706 Snowflake Pattern background stamp set. (You can see my first card using the Winter Church die set here.)

I colored white cardstock with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink, ending before the bottom of the panel.
I stamped the #40-706 Snowflake Pattern background with white pigment ink on to the Distress Ink panel.
Once dry, I heat-embossed the sentiment from the #30-257 Joy Filled stamp set on to the panel.
I cut and assembled the #51-569 Winter Church. I backed its windows with gold foil cardstock. I added the assembled church to the panel with foam adhesive.
For a finishing touch, I added a star, cut with a die in the #51-562 Christmas Wonderland set from gold cardstock.

Spellbinders – Happy HOWLidays

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Christmas card with a pet-lover in mind featuring the new I (Heart) Puppies die set from Spellbinders. The set includes three dog silhouettes. While I’ve created a holiday card, the set lends itself to many occasions. I’ve listed additional sentiment ideas at the end of the post.

I created the punny sentiment on my computer and printed it on the SU Very Vanilla cardstock (to match the plaid patterned paper base).
I cut the sentiment oval with one of the dies in the Fancy Edged Ovals set. I cut the larger oval, using the same set, from My Favorite Things Gumdrop Green cardstock.
I cut the puppies and their accessories with the I (Heart) Puppies die set and added them to the oval assembly with foam adhesive.
I added sequins to add color and to emphasize the playful feel of the card.

Punny sentiments for other occasions include: “You Make My Heart Go Mutts,” “You’re Pawsome,” “The Puggle Is Real,” “It’s Been Ruff,” “Doggone It,” and “It’s Pawty Time.”
