Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be part of today’s blog hop featuring the Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection by Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders.

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog HopFor the hop, I created two cards of the same design showcasing the Robin and Rosy Mug die set. I used different materials and color palettes on the two versions to illustrate the versatility of the set.

On my first card, I created a textured background using the Circles and Diamonds embossing folder. I die-cut the mug in the Robin and Rosy Mug set, with the floral insert, from red cardstock, which I backed with white cardstock. I cut the bird from light-blue cardstock, which I backed with white (for the wing detail) and black cardstock (for the eye). I attached string from an actual tea bag with a small staple to the die-cut tea bag (crafted from kraft and red). I stamped the sentiment in black ink on white cardstock.

On my second card, I die-cut the tea mug with the floral insert from glossy white cardstock (to look like a china cup), which I backed with cardstock to which I had applied red microfine glitter.

I cut the bird from cardstock to which I applied black microfine glitter. The bird is backed with red glitter (wing detail) and glossy white cardstock (eye). The tea bag is crafted from cardstock, to which I applied sand and red microfine glitter. I heat-embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock.

Trick or Treat – Die-cut Glitter Bats

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Halloween card featuring glitter-covered bats!

Trick or Treat - Die-cut Glitter Bats

  • I cut the bats from cardstock to which I first applied double-sided sheet adhesive.
  • I added the micro-fine glitter to the die-cuts.
  • I stamped the sentiment and cut it with one of the dies in the MFT Hearts in a Row set.
  • To create the background, I applied Black Soot ink with a Jumbo Dauber through the Taylored Expressions Spiderweb stencil.
  • I cut the circle from Stampin’ Up cardstock, adhered it to the background, and added the sentiment pieces and bats with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders October Small Die of the Month Kit

Hello! Wow, it is already October. It is hard to believe how fast this year is going by! Today, I am delighted to be sharing three fall- and Thanksgiving-themed CAS projects created with the October Small Die Of The Month kit from Spellbinders. These cards took very little time to put together!

I grabbed a variety of warm-toned solid cardstocks (rusts, browns, tans), gold foil cardstock, and fall-themed patterned papers and started die-cutting. I backed the die-cut acorn top with solid cardstock in the card above and with gold foil below.

For all three cards, the die-cuts included in the small die kit do the “talking”- I didn’t stamp a thing!

Spellbinders – Let’s Bake

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Let’s Bake die set from the Spellbinders A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell. This card would be a great addition to a gift of Christmas cookies or candy (my mother gifted hand-turned fudge packaged in a red round tin). Similarly the die-cuts could be used to created gift tags for Christmas food gifts!

I cut the pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and backed the pieces with openings (the oven mitt, the measuring spoon, and the glass measuring cup) with cardstock in the same color.

I added a heat-embossed sentiment on the kitchen wall background which I created with the Spellbinders Circles and Diamonds embossing folder.

CAS Fall Season Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card combining a sentiment from the Four Seasons Sayings stamp set with die-cut sunflowers. There are a number of terrific sentiments in the stamp set. This particular one is not specifically fall, but I felt suited.

I stamped the sentiment with Stampin’ Up Chocolate Chip ink  on to patterned paper in my stash. I cut the sunflower from a variety of solid cardstocks – I pulled out all of my greens, yellows, and browns to figure out which ones were the best for depicting sunflowers. Even though fall is just beginning, it seems it is already time to start in on holiday cards!
