Penny Black Winter Cheer

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card featuring Penny Black supplies including products from the recently-released Winter Wishes Collection. I’m transitioning from Christmas-themed to winter-themed cards. This card is right in between and uses one of my favorite color schemes for this time of year.

Penny Black Winter Cheer

  • I stamped the 30-762 Bright and Light sentiment in white pigment ink on teal cardstock (it’s from Gina K and unfortunately no longer available).
  • I die-cut the 51-663 Moonlit ornament pieces from white cardstock. I trimmed off the quarter moon from the pine tree layer. I used the front piece to cut silver foil for the ornament topper. I cut a circle from red cardstock and adhered it to the back. I cut the deer from brown cardstock and added him with foam adhesive.
  • I cut the boughs and ribbon with the 51-659 Beautified Baubles set.
  • I added the pieces to the sentiment panel and the assembly to a textured white cardstock base.

Elizabeth Craft Holiday Birdhouse

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS holiday card (that was relatively quick to assemble) created with the Elizabeth Craft Holiday Birdhouse die set and Lawn Fawn letters.

Elizabeth Craft Holiday Birdhouse

  • I die-cut the birdhouse pieces from colored cardstock, white cardstock, velvet cardstock, and glitter cardstock.
  • Before gluing together, I dry-embossed the main part of the birdhouse with the Taylored Expressions Weathered folder.
  • I assembled the birdhouse and added it to a patterned paper base adding the bird with foam adhesive.
  • I cut the sentiment from red velvet cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Cole’s ABCs.

Penny Black Baking Season

  • With the 51-669 Baking Season die set, I cut the gingerbread cookies and the baking/serving tray from tan, white, and red foil cardstock.
  • I assembled the gingerbread cookies, using the inlaid technique for the faces and windows.
  • I stamped the 30-731 Christmas Moments sentiment in white pigment ink on green cardstock.
  • I cut the panel and added it to a white, textured card base.
  • I added the baking/serving tray and cookies, popping up one of the gingerbread men with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders December Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop sharing projects created with the Spellbinders December 2020 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Jennifer Snyder. (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created two CAS holiday cards using this month’s Small Die of the Month kit (“Daydreaming”) and Large Die of the Month kit (“Look Behind the Curtain”).

I previously shared projects using these dies here and here.

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on the Spellbinders blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, December 13th, 11:59 pm MST. The winner will be announced in this blog hop post the following Tuesday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes. Please note: store credit (gift certificate) cannot be applied to Club Subscriptions; store credit can be applied to shop past Club products, Club extras, and regular releases.

I used the same approach on both cards: patterned paper as the scene through the window, the Small Die of the Month window oriented horizontally on a card base glimmer foiled with a Holiday Series 2 sentiment, and a curtain created with the Large Die of the Month curtain panel (cut in two) .

The Large Die of the Month set includes dies to create a moving curtain panel. Figuring that a lot of people might be short on time during the holidays, I wanted to show how to create cards without an operable curtain. With the Large Die of the Month set, I cut one curtain panel and cut it into two pieces. I framed the window scene with the panels and the curtain valance. Quick and simple!

On the second scene, I added a cat cut with a die in the Small Die of the Month set along with packages cut with dies in the Home for the Holidays set.

Penny Black – Christmas Ornaments

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS holiday card created with Penny Black die sets.

Penny Black - Christmas Ornaments

  • With the 51-659 Beautified Baubles set, I cut the two ornaments. The set includes overlay dies; I used the circle die in the set alone.
  • I cut the snowflake strip with the 51-671 Cozy die.
  • I added the Cozy strip to a card base covered with patterned paper.
  • I adhered the assembled ornaments to the strip.
  • I adhered the sentiment cut with the 51-698 Frozen Vista Cut Out to the top.
