Hello There Slimline Flamingo Card

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a clean and simple slimline card featuring a fun flamingo from Tim Holtz paired with a bold die-cut sentiment that says “hello there.” The CAS design lets the image and pattern do all the work.

- Create a card base measuring 3 3/8″ x 6 3/4″.
- Cover the base from the top with patterned paper. The paper I used was a 6″ square, but because of the sentiment, that was not an issue.
- Die-cut the flamingo with the Gladys Colorize set from cardstock and assemble.
- Die-cut the sentiment with a die in the Bold Text 1 set from cardstock. Cut a rectangle measuring the width of the card and tall enough for the sentiment, and cut the sentiment again. Inlay the letters from the first cut into the rectangular piece. Adhere to the base of the card.
- Add the flamingo.

Repetition in Design: Trio of Tropical Birds

Hello! Today I am sharing another card created with the Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Tropical Friends.” I previously shared a card created with the kit HERE. On this card, I am embracing the design principle of repetition. Note: the sign-up window for new club subscriptions closes on the 27th.

- Dry-emboss a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (slimline size) Peridot cardstock with the Puff Dotty folder. Add to card base.
- Press the Always and Forever sentiment with Cosmic Sky ink on Snowdrift cardstock. Cut with the die in the set. Add the sentiment to the card front with foam adhesive.
- Cut birds and foliage with the Small Die of the Month kit from a variety of cardstock colors. Assemble. Add elements to card front with dot and foam adhesive.

Pretty Pink Posh | The Stockings Were Hung

Hello! Today I am sharing a slimline-sized holiday card created with the charming Pretty Pink Posh Build A Stocking die and Christmas Sentiment Strips stamp sets. By the way, Pretty Pink Posh is now available at Scrapbook.com!

I wanted to showcase the variety of stockings you can create with the 17- piece set, so I created a background from patterned paper measuring 7″ wide by 3 3/4″ tall. I added the background to a card base.

With the set, I cut a variety of stockings and assembled them. It was fun to try out the various overlays and stocking tops. I used solid cardstock to coordinate with the patterned paper in the colors: Taylored Expressions Red Pepper, SU Very Vanilla, SU Old Olive, and SU Mossy Meadow.

I heat-embossed the Christmas Sentiment Strips sentiment in gold on Old Olive cardstock and cut it with a banner die.

I added the five assembled stockings to the card base with foam adhesive and the sentiment strip with foam adhesive over the two stocking on the right-hand side.

Spellbinders | Festive Christmas Ornaments

Hello! Today, I am delighted to share a whimsical and festive holiday card featuring new die sets and stamp set from the Merry Mugs & Circle Delights Collection at Spellbinders by Nichol Spohr. Adorned with three charming ornaments, including a jolly Santa Claus, this slimline card is sure to bring a smile to its recipient’s face.

Cut slimline panel, 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, from Waterfall cardstock. Dry emboss with the Peppermint Stripes folder and add to card base.
With the Festive Ornaments set, cut three ornament bases from Fern, blush, and Pomegranate cardstock. With the same set, cut ornament holders from Brushed Gold and Brushed Silver.
Cut decorative items for the ornaments on the left and right. Heat-emboss in white the Santa’s Sippin’ Sayings sentiment on the Pomegranate ornament. Add decorative items.
Cut Santa elements with dies in the coordinating Santa’s Festive Circle Crew set. Adhere to flesh cardstock ornament.
Add ornaments to card base with foam adhesive, doubling for the Santa ornament in the center.

Spellbinders | November 2022 Large Die of the Month

Hello and happy November! Today, I am sharing a slimline holiday card created with the Spellbinders November 2022 Large Die of the Month “Stylized Floral Kaleidoscope Slimline.” I used the kaleidoscope flowers for a winter-themed card.

The Large Die of the Month set also includes a birthday sentiment and leaf dies.

With the Large Die of the Month, I cut the card elements from Brushed Silver, Snowdrift, and several shades of blue. I used a die to cut a circle from navy cardstock which I placed behind the floral kaleidoscope pieces.
I added the assembly to a white-textured, slimline card base.
I foiled a sentiment in Silver on Snowdrift with the Glitter Wishes set and cut it with the coordinating die.
I embellished with snowflakes cut from white glitter foam with the Chill Bear, Holiday Decorations, and Let it Snowman sets.
