Hero Arts Watercolored Holiday Animals

Hello! Today, I am sharing a holiday card showcasing the Hero Arts’ Holiday Animals stamp set. I bought this stamp set last year (the year before?) and had never used it.

I stamped and heat-embossed two of the images from the stamp set on Canson Montval watercolor paper. I colored them with a combination of Distress Inks and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I inked the same watercolor paper with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on which I stamped the trees (and then cut with their corresponding dies). The background was inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The patterned paper card base is from a Lawn Fawn 6 x 6 pad released several years ago.

TE Merry & Bright Holiday Die-cut Door

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card created with Taylored Expressions supplies using a non-traditional color scheme.

TE Merry & Bright Holiday Die-cut Door

I was going to claim this as a “no stamps” card but then remembered I used the Snow Day Background! I started by stamping the background with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers ink. Next I cut the door from Door to Door 2 from Lollipop cardstock. I backed the window with vellum and then again with Sugar Cube cardstock. The Little Bits – Ice Skates held with the bow in Ornament Accessories is the door decor. I cut snow for the top of the door with the Door to Door Winter Decor set. The sentiment is cut from Silver Foil with the Picture Perfect – Vertical die, trimmed and tucked behind the snow. The base needed some textured, so I dry-embossed Cookie Monster cardstock with the Diagonal Stripe embossing folder. And Santa has been by, so his (or hers?) sack, cut with dies in the By the Fireside – Santa set, are left at the door.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge 264 – Kraft and Red

Hello! Today, I am sharing a holiday card created for this week’s Merry Monday Christmas Challenge to use Kraft and Red. This happens to be one of my favorite holiday color combinations.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #264

I created a card featuring two Memory Box poinsettia die sets – Small Blooming Poinsettia and Blooming Poinsettia. I connected the blooms with a die-cut sprig (it is cut in two underneath the large poinsettia), which was cut with the Memory Box Holiday Vine die from gold foil cardstock. I used Memory Box green paper for the leaves (no longer available) and Stampin’ Up Real Red for the poinsettias. The gold, heat-embossed sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up Embellished Ornaments set. After I had everything adhered, I took a look and felt the card looked a little blank. If I were a braver person, I might have sprinkled on Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine Spray in a few places! Fearing that would cause a mess, I added Neat and Tangled sequins. This particular mix includes three different sequin sizes.

One of the things I particularly like about these challenges is that they provide an opportunity to revisit supplies I already own! These Memory Box dies are several years old.

May the Christmas Season Bring You Peace

Hello! Today, I’m sharing another CAS holiday card created with the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Greetings stamp set. Several weeks ago, I shared four cards created with the stamp set that you can see here.

On this card, I combined a die-cut dove (Penny Black’s 51-070 The Gift), cut from gold foil, with the gold, heat-embossed, upper-case PEACE sentiment. I heat-embossed the smaller sentiment white on red cardstock and cut it with a small banner die. The patterned paper background is from an American Crafts pad released last year or the year before.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #263

Hello! Today, I am sharing a holiday card inspired by the image shown for Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #263.

I really like this image and would love to set up this hot cocoa bar in my home! The cards from the team are fantastic! My card was most inspired by the one shown by Kelly Lunceford.

Merry Monday Challenge #263

I went through my patterned paper and pulled out the woodgrain and the peppermint. I still have A LOT of patterned paper purchased in past years! The What’s in Your Cup? mug is from Penny Black. The candy cane is from the CottageCutz Peppermint Latte set. The sentiment – Subway Series: Holidays – is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps (now retired).

Merry Monday Challenge #263

Yesterday my husband and I went to a local nursery to see their festive holiday décor. They have an assortment of themed trees including this one featuring kitchen items, candy canes, and gingerbread men.
