From Witch to Girl Elf!

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS holiday card featuring a female elf (who just happened to have once been a witch!). For the August Taylored Expressions release, I created this card with the Roly Poly – Witch die set. With just a few modifications, she’s an elf for Christmas.

TE Roly Poly Elf

I die cut the pieces from the Roly Poly – Witch set and used corresponding Taylored Expressions ink colors to the die-cut pieces. In addition to that set, I used the cheeks from Roly Poly – Santa. To finish, I added a frame cut from gold cardstock with the Picture Perfect – Vertical set.

As Buddy the Elf, the inspiration for my card, says: “The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”

Supplies: Background paper – Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Claus patterned paper

Here Comes Santa Paws

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Happy Howlidays stamp set, which was a Simon Says Stamp set for their Stamptember event. I paired the Copic-colored dogs with two Lawn Fawn die sets.

I cut the Little Town Border from white cardstock and backed the openings with yellow cardstock. I cut the Stitched Mountain Borders from the Earl Grey cardstock. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil to create the snowflakes. It took me a few minutes to gather my embossing paste and related supplies, but I’m glad I did, as the background needed some texture (and I plan to do more stenciling this season).

Make It Personal – Holiday Table Settings + Home Decor

Hello! It’s Day Three of the Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks. With the holidays just around the corner, this month’s release features products designed for creating handmade home decor! The November products will be released tomorrow – Thursday, November 3 @ 7 AM PST!

Today, I’m sharing several personalized items for the home featuring the Initially dies. First up, personalized napkin rings for the holidays. I created Thanksgiving and Christmas napkin rings with our family’s initials and the Napkin Ring die set.

For my Thanksgiving table setting, I combined papers from the Playful Patterns – Harvest collection with a woodgrain paper (Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack) and initials cut from matching cardstock.

Different holiday? No problem! For my Christmas table setting, I used papers from the Playful Patterns – Holiday collection with a white woodgrain (Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack) for the initials.

I also used the Initially dies to create a holiday home decor piece. The Initially die sets include large uppercase, small lowercase, and small uppercase letters. I used the large uppercase for this project.

I cut the letters four times each and adhered them for extra depth. The letters are adhered to a piece of 12″ x 12″ scrapbook paper in a shadow box frame. Super easy!

Dressed for the Holidays

Hello! I’m sharing a holiday card featuring the Taylored Expressions Door to Door die series. We just painted our front door red (about which I’m ecstatic!) and decided to create a holiday card with a red door as the starting point.

TE Holiday Card

I used Door to DoorDoor to Door Roof, and Door to Door Molding to create the foundation and decorated with elements from Door to Door Winter Decor (bow), Door to Door Decor (wreath and plants) and Door to Door Summer Decor (planters and bird).

After die-cutting the pieces, I inked them with their corresponding ink colors. (I’ve wanted to do this for a long time because I like the depth it adds to the elements.)

TE Holiday Door

I stamped the sentiment from Ornamental on a die-cut rectangle which I adhered to the inside of the card. This card is slightly larger than A2.

Holiday Die-Cut Birds

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Elizabeth Crafts Birds set for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #219.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - Birds

Holiday Die-Cut Birds

I cut the birds from Memory Box cardstock in my stash (the cardstock is vibrant and easy to cut). The birds were easy to assemble. I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Christmas Messages onto blue cardstock and cut it with a Spellbinders oval die. I added the birds to the oval with foam adhesive. I used two different stitched square die sets from Lil’ Inker Designs to cut the background (patterned paper in my stash) and the card base. One of the sets includes a die that cuts a stitched square 4.25″ x 4.25″. The square cards size works great for these smaller images.
