Who Loves You?

Today, I’m sharing a card created with one of the new stamp sets (and its companion die cut set)  from Paper Smooches.

Hooties

For the background, I applied Ferro acrylic paint through a Simon Says Stamp star stencil. The Ferro paint was demonstrated during the Online Card Classes Stenciled Class. It’s quite thick – as thick as embossing paste. Application was super easy and much easier than coloring embossing paste with a metallic (which I actually haven’t tried, although I have colored the embossing paste with acrylic paint). I also tried heat-embossing white paste (applied through the stencil) with silver powder; another technique demonstrated in the Stenciled class. It worked fine, but I prefer the look that the Ferro provides over the embossing powder technique, which tends to bubble the embossing powder during the heating process.

I colored the owls with Copics, cut them with the Owl Icons die, and attached them to the die cut branch with dimensional adhesive.

Penny Black Valentine’s Day Card

There’s been some wonderful inspiration over on the Penny Black Blog using the latest release Sending Hugs. In fact, Penny Black is holding a Sending Hugs challenge – read all about it here.

Today, I’m sharing a card using three stamp sets from the release – ooh la la [30-210], from the heart [30-207] and rose edging [30-206].

I stamped one of the images from  rose edging twice on the card base. On a rectangular panel, I stamped and Copic-colored an image from ooh la la, combining it with a die-cut heart which was heat embossed with a sentiment from the from the heart set. I finished the card off with a white ribbon bow.

So Proud of You

I couldn’t resist making another card with the new Hero Arts “Lil Hoot” stamp set, this time using the pair of bears.

So Proud of You

As with my card using the Lil Hoot owls, I relied on several Hero Arts background stamps for some pattern.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! One of my resolutions for 2014 is to color more with my Copics. Today I’m sharing a card created with the new Hero Arts “Lil Hoot” stamp set.

Happy New Year!

I used several Hero Arts background stamps on this card as well – for the tree background and the starry sky. I fussy-cut the colored owls and attached them with dimensional adhesive to the star background.

Be Merry

Today, I’m sharing a card created with one Kristina Werner’s designs from the Online Card Classes Holiday Workshop. There are still plenty of cards from class that I’d like to make!

Kristina stamped lines with pigment ink on her card. I tried this idea, but wasn’t able to stamp lines that looked sharp, so I created strips from patterned paper instead. I heat embossed green and red cardstock with Lawn Fawn stamps. The patterned paper is from one of last year’s Echo Park collections. I stamped the owl with Memento black ink and colored him (her?) with Copics. Even though I didn’t mind fussy cutting stamped images too much, I really like the Lawn Cuts companion dies!
