Father’s Day Card for a Fishing Enthusiast
Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS, fishing-themed, Father’s Day card created with dies in the Elizabeth Craft Designs Camping Accessories set.
- I colored soft-finish cardstock with Distress Inks and cut the colored cardstock with the fishing pole and the fish dies in the Camping Accessories set.
- I stamped the Stampin’ Up sentiment (now-retired Best Catch stamp set) on to a 4 1/4″ square base.
- For the water, I colored a strip with Distress Ink and stamped it with the My Favorite Things Winter Waves Background stamp in darker ink. I added the strip to the bottom of the card base.
- The fish was added to the card with foam adhesive.
Along with the fishing-theme, I particularly like the bright colors on the card.

Let’s Get Nautical – Cottage Cutz Die Sets
Ahoy! Today I am sharing a nautical-themed card featuring die sets from Cottage Cutz and one of my favorite color schemes. I have had my eye on these sets for a while now (they were released several years ago).
- I cut the Paddles & Rope Net and Crab in colors to coordinate with the Carta Bella patterned paper.
- I assembled the pieces.
- I dry-embossed the navy circle with the TE Weathered folder.
- I stamped the now-retired Stampin’ Up sentiment in navy ink on white cardstock and cut it with a circle die.
What I like about this card: the nautical theme, the red/white/blue color scheme, and the patterned paper.

Let’s Go Camping – Elizabeth Craft Designs
Hello! Today I am sharing an adventure-themed card featuring die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Camping is one of my favorite summer themes, right up there with nautical!
- I colored soft-finish cardstock with Distress Inks and cut the various pieces for the bear, tent, fire, and s’more stick.
- I assembled the pieces.
- I created a 5″ x 7″ background on which I heat-embossed the sentiment.
- I trimmed the tent on the left-hand side (because I was running out of room!).
- I added the assembled pieces to the scene, adhering the fire and the s’more with foam adhesive.
- Once I had everything in place, I added the star sequins as the blue sky looked blank. Had I thought of it earlier, I might have added stars through a stencil instead.

Penny Black Hydrangea
Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS “Thank You” featuring a potted hydrangea created with Penny Black supplies. Around here, we’ll begin to see hydrangeas blooming mid-July.
- I cut the 51-610 Hydrangea pieces from green cardstock and two shades of blue.
- With the same set, I cut the butterflies from yellow cardstock.
- I cut the pot for the plant from red cardstock with a die in the 51-635 Buckets of Flowers set.
- I cut the back frame with the 51-611 Creative Curves die from white cardstock.
- I stamped the 30-281 Flower Sparks sentiment and cut it with a circle die.
- I tried a number of different backgrounds, including ones I stamped with backgrounds stamps. In the end, patterned paper from my stash worked best.
