Reverse Confetti – Mixed Media Faith Bookmark

Today, I’m sharing a mixed-media, faith-based bookmark featuring one of the sentiments from the Reverse Confetti God Is Good set.

FaithBookMark

Both Reverse Confetti God Is Good and Walk By Faith stamp sets can be used for Bible journaling. I don’t own a Bible with a journaling margin so decided to make a bookmark.

To begin, I applied three colors of Peerless Watercolors to watercolor paper and then die cut a large tag out of the watercolored paper. I stamped the sentiment and added clouds and a sun die cut with the Weather It Together Confetti Cuts set. The sun was also colored with Peerless watercolors. To finish I added ribbon that I dyed with Distress Stain.

Lawn Fawn Keep Cozy

Sweater weather has definitely arrived! I’m sharing a “just because” card celebrating fall featuring Lawn Fawn’s Love You a Latte.

Lawn Fawn Keep Cozy

I’ve been continuing to practice my Copic coloring, keeping records of combinations I particularly like. The Online Card Classes Copic class handouts are always at my side! I really like the combination of brown and orange this time of year. I did a partial die cut in the brown panel with a circle die, before dry embossing the panel with the woodgrain texture. I’ve seen both Laura Bassen and Pamela Ho use this technique and really wanted to try it. I like the window because the bottom of the circle is flat, and it makes it easy to place objects on that line.

I blended a combination of Distress Inks for the window background. I also directly applied Distress Ink to cardstock for the sentiment strip (before heating embossing the sentiment). I tried heat embossing the sentiment on cardstock, but the cardstock just didn’t match the color in the window enough (and visually took away from the card). The hearts were colored with Copics before I added Glossy Accents.

Penny Black Simplicity – Make a Wish!

Today, I’m sharing a bold birthday card combining several Penny Black stamp sets.

MakeAWish

To begin, I stamped the background stamp #40-144 Dots in Space onto red cardstock with red ink for a tone-on-tone background. I cut the panel with a rectangular die and circle die (for the window). I stamped images from #30-280 A Sweet Day directly onto the card base, using the red panel as my guide. I stamped the hat first and masked it before stamping the stars. I added the sentiment from #30-280 A Sweet Day with black ink. The red panel was attached to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

End of Summer Beach Scene

Today, I’m sharing a “Thinking of You” card in honor of the end-of-summer. The changing of the seasons is always bittersweet, and for me, especially at the end of the summer!

ThinkingofYouBeachScene

I created this card a couple of weeks ago when the weather was still summery, but today the PNW drizzle has resumed! This will probably be my last “summer-themed” card of the year as Halloween and holiday supplies are now out on my work table! I used the Taylored Expressions Build a Scene Rolling Hills and Rolling Waves to create the sand and waves. While the Avery Elle stamp set coordinates with their Hello word die, I find myself using the sentiments alone as I really like the font.

Reverse Confetti September SFYTT

Have you seen this month’s Sketch for You to Try at Reverse Confetti? I created a back-to-school card using the sketch as my starting point.

SFYTT Sept 2015

Here’s my take on the sketch, featuring a sentiment from My World and the Globe Confetti Cuts:

SFYTTSept2015

I cut both gray and red cardstock with the Globe Confetti Cuts and backed the globe with a circle cut from patterned paper (Echo Park’s Teacher’s Pet collection). The sentiment, apropos for a new school year (or any new undertaking), was stamped on patterned paper.

I hope you’ll play along! Head on over to link up your card on the Reverse Confetti Blog for your chance to win a $20 Reverse Confetti gift certificate and the title of ‘Fetti Fave!
