Poppystamps: Merry

Today I’m sharing another card as part of the “blog blitz” celebrating the brand-new Poppystamps collection of 74 dies and 20 cling stamps.

Poppystamps: Merry

On my CAS holiday card in traditional colors, I combined the small poinsettia die with the cursive Merry die. For the two smaller flowers, I simply left off the largest, outermost flower – the die cuts the center, three flower layers, and a leaf. I cut the merry die several times in Parchment and once in Squash cardstock, then I adhered the layers together, in order to give more dimension to the sentiment. I use Ranger Glossy Accents – it dries fast and clear.

Poppystamps: Woodland Fawn

I shared my Poppystamps project using the new Woodland Fawn die in this post. I couldn’t resist playing with the die some more, pairing it with another die from the brand-new collection of 74 dies and 20 cling stamps.

Poppystamps: Woodland Fawn

The diamond background is subtle but makes the card so elegant. I carefully adhered the background to a cardstock base with Glossy Accents, placing a drop on each of the diamond points and along the edge.

For the center “ornament” I placed the fawn die inside a circle die, using washi tape to keep them together, and cut Juniper cardstock. I then adhered the metallic fawn, which I’d cut separately, inside the circle, adding its scarf to the top.

Poppystamps: Fawn in the Forest

There’s a whole set of forest trees (Fremont Pine) in the new release that “play well together.” As I’m surrounded by evergreen here in the Pacific Northwest, and deer as well, I couldn’t resist combining tree die cuts with the fawn in traditional holiday colors! I think this would be a fun card to send for the holidays or anytime in the fall and winter months. Comment on my post over on the Poppystamps blog for a chance to win the Woodland Fawn die.

Halloween Ghosts

Today, I’m sharing a Halloween card crafted from a design of Kristina Werner’s from last year’s Online Card Classes Kickstart class.

Halloween Ghosts

Kristina’s card was rectangular and featured a single ghost. I replaced the single ghost with this trio from Memory Box, cut from glitter paper. I also decided to eliminate the bottom section of Kristina’s design – this card is 4 1/2″ square. I’ve used dimensional adhesive on the ghosts and on the panel with the circle cut out. Unfortunately, my photo doesn’t show the dimension particularly well.

I’ve got several newly released Halloween paper pads in my stash that I’m looking forward to using this month and next. Growing up, Halloween colors were black and orange. Now we’ve got the traditional colors, as well as purple and green. I like having the additional variety for crafting!
