An Autumn Day – Penny Black Simplicity

Hello! Today I’m sharing an autumn-themed card created with Penny Black supplies. The leaves are almost off the trees here in the Pacific Northwest, but just a week ago there was quite a color show. I think I appreciated the fall leaves this year more than I ever have before.

To create the trees, I colored watercolor paper with Distress Inks and then cut it (once dry) with the 51-208 Trio of Trees die set. I colored the trunks after I die cut, using several brown Distress Inks. I also watercolored a background on a watercolor panel with one of the colors in the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set and stamped it with a sentiment in the 30-350 Sentiment Collection set.

Make It Personal – Holiday Table Settings + Home Decor

Hello! It’s Day Three of the Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks. With the holidays just around the corner, this month’s release features products designed for creating handmade home decor! The November products will be released tomorrow – Thursday, November 3 @ 7 AM PST!

Today, I’m sharing several personalized items for the home featuring the Initially dies. First up, personalized napkin rings for the holidays. I created Thanksgiving and Christmas napkin rings with our family’s initials and the Napkin Ring die set.

For my Thanksgiving table setting, I combined papers from the Playful Patterns – Harvest collection with a woodgrain paper (Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack) and initials cut from matching cardstock.

Different holiday? No problem! For my Christmas table setting, I used papers from the Playful Patterns – Holiday collection with a white woodgrain (Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack) for the initials.

I also used the Initially dies to create a holiday home decor piece. The Initially die sets include large uppercase, small lowercase, and small uppercase letters. I used the large uppercase for this project.

I cut the letters four times each and adhered them for extra depth. The letters are adhered to a piece of 12″ x 12″ scrapbook paper in a shadow box frame. Super easy!

Just Because – Taylored Expressions Die-Cut Fall Scene

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a “just because” die-cut, fall scene created with  Taylored Expressions supplies.

TE Die-Cut Fall Scene

I had an assembled Little Bits – Raccoon on my work table just waiting for a place on a card. Our recent wind and rain storms had me thinking about swirling leaves (of which we’ve seen a lot), and I wanted to create a scene in which the raccoon was surrounded by falling leaves. I happened to also have the dry-embossed base, so it was easy to add a few more items to complete the scene. I’ve never used the Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds dies before but decided they’d be the perfect way to add a sentiment to the scene in an unobtrusive manner!

Halloween Watercolored Hedgehog-Penny Black Simplicity

Hello – it’s a beautiful fall day here in the Pacific Northwest, but rains are in the forecast for the next week! I’m sharing another CAS Halloween card featuring the Penny Black 30-318 Bewitched stamp set. (I blogged a card using a cat image from this stamp set here.)

Halloween Hedgehog - Penny Black Simplicity

I colored the adorable hedgehog with watercolor pencils and paint, and when dry, I fussy-cut the image, as well as the pumpkin balloon.

To frame my image, I cut a partial circle in a rectangular panel, which I then dry-embossed. I watercolored a teal blue background, onto which I stamped the hedgehog image again (to get the balloon string), when the panel was dry.

I cut the sentiment from watercolored cardstock with 51-077 Eeek! and added it to the rectangular panel (for extra depth I cut a second sentiment and glued the two together).

Before adhering the watercolor hedgehog to the background with foam adhesive, I glued down a small fence created with the 51-073 Haunted Hallow die set.

Hello Fall! Die-Cut Scene

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a die-cut fall scene created with a variety of die cuts.

Hello Fall Die-Cut Scene

I couldn’t wait to use the Poppystamps Patient Pup die (I’ve professed my love for similar dies in the past). This scene was inspired by our beloved Golden Retriever “Ginger.” She would not have been this patient, however, with squirrels in the yard! This card combines some of my favorite card making elements: lots of color, die-cuts and a heat-embossed sentiment.
