Happy Easter – Retrosketches #56

Time was running out for me to use the “Happy Easter” stamp set from Lawn Fawn! I created a springtime, Easter card to play along with this week’s Retrosketches sketch.

Happy Easter - Retrosketches #56

There’s a hint of Copic coloring on the rabbit, although it didn’t photograph well. The bunny is popped up with some dimensional adhesive. I cut the sentiment strip in half so that I could stack the greeting.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring (Happy Fall to those of you in the Southern Hemisphere)!

Colorful Chevrons

As long as I had the Fiskars stamp press out to make my Inspired by…Color card, I decided I’d make another card using border stamps. As I was pondering color schemes, I came across an image in a catalog I received with coral, blue and khaki. (It happened to be an ensemble in an outdoor clothing catalog.) I knew I didn’t want to make another rainbow color scheme card, and the color combination felt fresh, but not in a traditional sense.

Hello There

More CAS 2 Cards

Fabulous inspiration in the Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 course today! But first I’m sharing a card I made yesterday from Monday’s lesson. This is my take on Kristina Werner’s fabulous design.

Day One No 2

For today’s lesson I tried two versions of the cards shared by Jennifer McGuire.

Day Three No 1

Day Three No 2

The design uses gradient stamping. I experimented with a variety of shadow and chalk inks. As you can see, my chevron stamp needs a bit more seasoning! Jennifer’s cards included bows created with a new die set that I don’t own. For the time being, I’m trying to make each day’s cards with what I have on hand, and then make a shopping list towards the end of class with some of the goodies that have been shared each day.
