Penny Black – CAS Christmas

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with  Penny Black products. The thing to remember with CAS cards – they look simple, but in fact, often take more time than less-simple cards. This card is a case in point; stamping the trees took a fair amount of time.

Penny Black - CAS Christmas

  • I stamped the tree image in the 30-747 Ornamented stamp set in green and red pigment inks. I dried the trees in between stamping as I have had pigment ink smear.
  • I cut the panel to 4 1/2″ square.
  • I die-cut the 51-664 Mirthful letters from white and red cardstock. I filled the open spaces of the white letters with red cardstock and adhered them to the red letters to create a drop-shadow effect.
  • I added the letters to the center of the stamped panel.

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with stamp sets in the “Season of Hope” release from Penny Black.

Penny Black CAS Christmas

  • I stamped the ornament images with stamps in the Penny Black 30-747 Ornamented set. I have a number of small ink pads, dye and pigments inks, with which I played. The pink is a Memento dye ink and the teal and red are pigment inks.
  • I stamped the 30-731 Christmas Moments sentiment in black.
  • I trimmed the panel and matted it with brushed silver cardstock.
  • I added the assembly to a dry-embossed background.
  • I glued silver twine bows to the tops of the ornaments.

The 30-747 Ornamented has a Scandinavian folk art vibe; I’m looking forward to playing more with the set.

Penny Black Frozen Vista

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with new products from Penny Black’s Season of Hope Collection.

Penny Black Frozen Vista

  • To begin, I applied Distress Oxide inks to Bristol board.
  • I stamped the 30-736 Frozen Vista image in black. The stamp set includes two window pane images.
  • I heat-embossed the 30-736 Frozen Vista sentiment on white cardstock from which I cut the opening using a die in the 51-698 Frozen Vista Cut Out set.
  • I added the frame over the inked and stamped image.
  • I added snowflakes cut from white cardstock with a die in the 51-080 Around Town set.

Penny Black Frozen VistaI particularly like window scene. One of my favorite Christmas motifs is Santa in the sky over a landscape.
