I’m at Neat and Tangled today sharing Valentine’s Day cards stamped with the “On the Strip” set. Please head on over and take a look at what I created with this fabulous set!
I can’t believe that the Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 class is drawing to a close. I’ve enjoyed it so much!
Today’s lesson focused on adding texture to a card, including glitter. I created a card based on one shared by Jennifer McGuire featuring a pleated panel. Since I don’t have a lot of glitter, I die cut the heart from glitter paper.
I “ironed” these pleats with a bone folder more than I’ve ever ironed anything with pleats, and they’re still sticking up a bit! I need to flatten the card under a pile of books overnight.
Supplies: Hero Arts “My Happy” stamp; Savvy arrow die; Wplus9 Design Studio heart die; Spellbinders banner die; Hero Arts shadow ink; Neenah white cardstock; Stampin’ Up gray cardstock; Michaels glitter paper; Crate patterned paper
In this card for Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2, I’m combining techniques from several class lessons – the illusion of dimension from Julie Ebersole’s Day Seven card and masking from Debby Hughes’ Day Six card. I also colored my cats like Debby’s.
After masking and coloring the cats, I didn’t want to risk a mis-stamped sentiment, so I added a die-cut one!
Supplies: Hero Arts Newspaper Skyline; Simon Says Stamp Furry Kisses; Simon Says Stamp banner die; Simon Says Stamp Banner Sayings; Versamark; Hero Arts white embossing powder; Neenah white cardstock; Stampin’ Up gray and blue cardstock; Stormy Sky Distress Ink; Copics; Memento Pear Tart ink; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Hero Arts Soft Pool ink
Yesterday’s Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 course lesson showed more one-layer card ideas (I’m a day or two behind!). I chose to CASE Julie Ebersole’s card that uses different ink colors to create the illusion of depth.
Off to get caught up. 😉
Welcome! Today I’m sharing layouts I created with this month’s Simple Scrapper Premium Membership templates, as well as this month’s Story Starters. Click on the images for supplies used.
This month I scrapped photos from December and New Year’s Day. First up is a layout about the annual trip my husband and I take to a local nursery for our holiday greenery.
I can count on one hand the photos that we took of our two sons in 2012. So as 2013 was rung in, I insisted we celebrate with a photo! We headed up to Snoqualmie Pass for a quick, and cold, photo at the base of the ski area.
For this month’s Story Starters theme – “Hopes and Dreams” – I compared the hopes and dreams for my eldest son from two different time periods. What better time to “take note” than upon a life event such as graduation. The photo on the left was taken at his college graduation in December; the photo on the right was taken when he was about nine months old.
