Neat + Tangled October Release – “Little Bear”

It’s Day One of the October Release for Neat & Tangled Stamps. Looking for the Simple Scrapper Blog Hop post? Scroll on down.

I just can’t get enough of the “Little Bear” set – so many cute images! For my first card, I combined the bear in the set with a smaller bear from a set that will be shown tomorrow. I embossed the images and then colored them with Copic markers. The sentiment is one from a set that will be released later this week.

For my second card, I took the bears camping! The tree and camp fire in the set are perfect for camp-themed cards and scrapbooking projects.

Simple Scrapper October Premium Membership Blog Hop

This month, I scrapped several memories from past autumns with the October Simple Scrapper Premium Membership templates. For more about how I’ve not only increased my scrapping productivity but also maintained my enthusiasm for scrapbooking, you can read Scrapping With the Seasons.

With the first template I scrapped a flight my family took in a small floating plane several Augusts ago. The tilted template in the collection was a perfect fit for my photos.

A few weeks ago I kitted up some paper supplies from last fall that I used to document a fun day trip we took when we lived in Massachusetts. I don’t do a lot of paper scrapping, but once I’d gathered everything together, I realized how easy it would be to do something with the products.

With the third template from the collection I scrapped some “outtake” photos from our holiday photo session two years ago. At the time, these photos were mostly ignored because they didn’t fit the bill for the card. Now, they’re priceless! I love seeing the joy on my sons’ faces as they clown around.

CAS-ual Fridays #71

This week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to create a Clean And Simple project inspired by autumn. I was able to make two entries; I had many more ideas swimming in my head that I just didn’t have time to implement!

My first card, and the one best-fitting the theme, came together quickly.

Supplies: Technique Tuesday Give Thanks by Ali Edwards; May Arts twine; October Afternoon button; Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor + Amy Tangerine paper; Savvy Leaf Tree die; Stampin’ Up cardstock; Versamark; Stampin’ Up embossing powder; Spellbinder die; We R Memory Keepers corner chomper

For my second card, I made a Halloween card combining several Paper Smooches sets.

I’m beginning to realize how much I’ve used the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor paper this fall – some Halloween, some not. It’s a great collection!

The Liebster Award

I was incredibly touched to recently receive a Liebster Award from Chari Moss of Mossy Made. I’ve gotten to know Chari as part of the Neat & Tangled Design Team. I’m wowed by her talent with every card she makes!

ABOUT THE AWARD
Liebster is a German word meaning “Beloved,” “Favorite,” or “Dearest.” This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers. The origins of this award is unclear, but is believed to have originated by a German blogger. This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion to share your dearest and most beloved blogs that have less than 200 followers.

RULES FOR ACCEPTANCE
Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog. Post the award onto your blog. Give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate that have less than 200 followers. Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this awesome award!

AND THE AWARDS GO TO
I’ve been amazed at the warm and welcoming cardmaking community that I’ve discovered during the past year (plus) I’ve been making cards. I’m bestowing the award on cardmakers I only know via the online communities of which I’m a part, although I would hope that someday I could meet some of you in person!

I discovered Kimberly in the Paper Smooches flickr group and was immediately drawn towards her style. Through her blog I learned of cardmaking challenges, such as CAS-ual Fridays, of which I had previously known nothing about.

Tracey has been supportive with comments on my blog and flickr stream which have meant a lot to me. She’s a regular contributor to many of the same challenges I enter.

Jennie has also been supportive with her comments. It’s been great seeing her work as a guest at Paper Smooches this month.

is an unbelievably talented cardmaker whose Lawn Fawn cards consistently inspire me.

Elena has left some sweet comments on my cards, and I also turn to her blog for Lawn Fawn inspiration.
