Watercolored Home Filled with Cats using Art Impressions Stamps
Hello! Today, I am sharing a project created with the Art Impressions matchbook set – Cats. I enjoyed watercoloring a cozy scene with twelve feline friends cuddled up keeping one another company. I provide details below on how I created the scene.
The Art Impressions Matchbook series has many different options. You can see an intro video here. I recently created a card with the Tool Shed Matchbook set – you can see that scene here.
- Stamp Cats images in VersaFine ink on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper; heat set.
- Watercolor the images with watercolor markers using the No. 4 brush and palette. I used a combination of Tombow and Zig markers. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about my watercolor marker palette.
- Once dry, cut the images with the coordinating dies included with the Cats set.
- Cut matchbook from patterned paper with the MB Template. Add watercolored Cats elements.
- Stamp Cats sentiment on white cardstock and cut with the MB Template die; trim and add to the top flap.
Do you have cat lovers or cat owners to whom you send cards? My list of recipients is split 50/50 with cat and dog owners. Looking for more cat card inspiration? Check out this card and this one.

Penny Black | Watercolored Scooter
Hello! Today I am sharing a watercolored card, featuring an adorable scene of a critters that will bring a smile to the recipient’s face, created with Penny Black supplies. The card features an image from the Stamping with Scooter release of June 2021. You can view the Stamping with Scooter catalog HERE. I did not play enough with these products then, and I am making up for that now. Read below for details on how I made the card.
The whimsical Zooming By image shows three creatures in the midst of a Zoom call – one dog is in conversation with another furry friend and a friendly hedgehog. The set was designed during the height of the pandemic, when we turned to Zoom to communicate with others. That being said, this set is by no means outdated as virtual communication in our modern world is still relevant, even as in-person interactions resume.
- Stamp Zooming By image on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper with VersaFine ink; heat set. Color image with watercolor markers. Set aside to dry. Stamp image on Masking Magic Sheets and fussy-cut. Cover watercolored image with mask; apply Tumbled Glass and Hickory Smoke inks for the background.
- Stamp Puptastic sentiment on Chamomile cardstock. Trim panel to A2-size and cut with a die in the Stitched Circles set. Add the circle frame panel to the watercolored image and add assembly to card base.
Art Impressions | Watercolored Blooming Window
Hello! Today I am excited to share a “Hello” card created with the Art Impressions Blooming Window and ShadowBox Window Die sets featuring a window looking out onto a beautiful spring garden scene. I used watercolors to bring the garden to life. Let’s take a look at the details of the supplies I used and how I created it.
- Stamp Blooming Window images (main image and additional pot of tulips) with VersaFine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper; heat set.
- Watercolor the garden scene with watercolor markers (list of markers used shown in the list below).
- Use ShadowBox Window Die to frame image. In this video Bonnie Krebs shows how to use the die set. The ShadowBox set works with the Art Impressions Windows to the World stamps.
- Cut images and sentiment with dies in the Blooming Window set and ShadowBox Window Die set; assemble.
