Spellbinders June 2020 Small Die – Handing You a Smile

Hello and Happy June! Today I am sharing a CAS friendship card created with the June Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Handing You a Smile.”

On my card, I used two of the three flower shapes in the set. I repeated the poppy-like floral in yellow and red and added the other flower in a warm orange, which I envisioned as a poppy from a different perspective (as in looking directly into the center).

I heat-embossed the sentiment on SU Island Indigo cardstock (now retired).
I cut the flowers from TE Lemon Meringue, SU Tangerine Tango (now retired), and SU Poppy Parade. The poppies in yellow and red consist of four die-cut pieces; I really like the detail the dies provide.
I added the flower centers cut from Whip Cream cardstock. The set includes several options for the centers. Since I was depicting the same flower, I used the same center.
I cut the stems and leaf from SU Cucumber Crush (now retired).
I cut the hand and the hand base and adhered them together.
I added the flowers to the card base positioning the flowers in the hand.

Lawn Fawn Hello

Hello! Today I am sharing a square “Hello” card featuring Lawn Fawn supplies.

I stamped, Copic-colored, and pencil-colored the elephants from the Wild for You stamp set. (I recently shared a card using images from the same set here.)
I created a scene with clouds and a grassy border and matted the scene with a scalloped square.
I added die-cut flowers cut from SU Watermelon Wonder cardstock (now retired) to coordinate with the patterned paper base.
I masked the sentiment stamped on the die-cut cloud.

Penny Black Butterflies – Two Versions

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards on which I’ve combined a variety of Penny Black supplies, which I have owned for years. I tend to get so caught up with new products, I often neglect supplies I already own. The designs of both cards I have previously used.

I stamped white cardstock using the 40-254 Decadence stamp with a now-retired Stampin’ Up ink (Soft Sky).
I cut the stamped cardstock with a die in the 51-007 Tagged set three times.
I cut the two butterflies with dies in the 51-006 Flutters set.
I stamped the 30-286 Heartfelt sentiment on to light blue cardstock and cut it with a circle die.
I added the elements to a card base dry-embossed with the Taylored Expressions “Weathered” folder.
I added twine to the middle tag.

On my second card, I used the same color scheme and many of the same elements.

I stamped the card base with the 40-254 Decadence stamp.
I cut the notebook paper piece with a die in the 51-053 A Pocket Full set from cardstock stamped with the 40-407 Script stamp.
I cut the two butterflies with dies in the 51-006 Flutters set.
I dry-embossed the coral strip with the Taylored Expressions “Burlap” folder.
I cut the stamped 30-288 Pretty Petals sentiment with a rectangle die.

Paper Smooches You’re Swell

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS friendship card featuring Paper Smooches supplies. I have created similar cards in the past using a now-retired My Favorite Things die that cuts a three-circle frame.

My starting point for this card was the Echo Park Dive Into Summer patterned paper.
I cut the three-circle frame for the underwater scenes and sentiment.
I combined the Paper Smooches Water Wise and Ocean Scene die sets with the Surf and Turf sentiment, choosing colors for the ocean plants and the fish to tie in with the patterned paper colors.
