Spellbinders May Clubs Blog Hop

Spellbinders May Clubs Blog HopHello! Today, I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop along with other papercrafters sharing projects created with the Spellbinders May 2020 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Jennifer Snyder. (The entire list of participants is listed at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created a card with the May Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Stacked Decorative Edges.”

  • To create my CAS card, I used two of the dies in the May Small Die of the Month set to cut detailed borders. The dies can be lined up together and cut simultaneously in a variety of combinations. I cut the borders from three different cardstock colors.
  • I lined the backs of the die-cut borders with Whip Cream cardstock.
  • I heat-embossed the sentiment in silver on to Whip Cream cardstock.

  • I added the Butterfly Frame die-cut, cut three times for additional dimension, to the top of the card as a focal point.
  • I assembled the card by adhering the panels on to a card base, starting with the bottom layer first.
  • At the point where the white panel meets the pink detailed border, I added a thin strip of Whip Cream cardstock.

Lawn Fawn BIG Hello

Sending a BIG Hello from the Pacific Northwest with a card featuring Lawn Fawn products.

Lawn Fawn BIG Hello

  • I stamped, Copic-colored, and pencil-colored critters from the Wild for You stamp set.
  • Masking part of the sentiment, I heat-embossed in yellow the Hello on the rust cardstock, which I die-cut with a stitched rectangle die.
  • I used a circle die to cut the grassy border, adding it to a blue circle.
  • I cut the letters twice for extra dimension, adding them above the heat-embossed hello.
  • I placed a cloud and sun behind the heads of the three animals.

Paper Smooches Thank You

Hello! Today I am sharing a bright, summer-themed Thank You  card created with Paper Smooches supplies, which I’m entering into their latest challenge whose theme is Thanks.

Paper Smooches Thank YouI die-cut and assembled the flip flops and floral elements and added them to a SU Tempting Turquoise (now retired) card base, on which I had heat-embossed the sentiment.

The hot pink and orange color combination screams late 1960s summer to me!

Lawn Fawn Tropical Scene

Hello! Today I am sharing a tropical scene created with Lawn Fawn products.

I combined Copic-colored critters against a beach scene. This scene is probably not realistic in terms of actual habit!

Lawn Fawn Tropical Scene

  • The Tropical Backdrop die cuts a frame, as well as pieces for the palm trunks and fronds (cut from SU Cucumber Crush, now retired) which can be applied on top of the frame.
  • I added a sand hill and ocean wave behind the frame and a die-cut sentiment.

Penny Black – A Floral Hello

Hello! Today I am sharing a “Hello” card created with  Penny Black supplies.

Penny Black - A Floral Hello

  • I stamped the 30-704 Wings and Vases image and colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils.
  • I cut the image with its corresponding die set.
  • I cut the 51-611 Creative Curves from white cardstock and backed it with a rectangle.
  • I die-cut the sentiment, using the 51-040 Hello Frame die, three times (for extra dimension) and glued the pieces together.
  • I applied double-sided adhesive to vellum and cut a rectangular strip. With the vase in place on the Creative Curves piece, I adhered the vellum. I then glued the Hello sentiment to the vellum strip.
  • I stamped the light-orange paper with the 40-254 Decadence stamp for the card base.
  • I added the assembly to the card base.
  • I added butterflies, cut with a die in the 51-132 Flights of Fancy set, to the scene for additional interest.

A few weeks ago I shared another card created with a different image from the 30-704 Wings and Vases set.
