Simon Says Stamp – Die-cut Punny Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS punny card, which I have had sitting out on my work table for a couple of days and just needed to assemble, featuring the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Love Bear.

Simon Says Stamp - Die-cut Punny Card

I paired the bear with die-cut bees, created with an older Memory Box die set, with an appropriate sentiment from the Messages for Everyday stamp set, which I heat-embossed on a strip of Black Licorice cardstock.

The background is cut from Sea Glass cardstock with a Lil’ Inker square die. It is a blue that works well with kraft cardstock, and I will be stocking up on this shade given how much I like to build scenes with blue skies.

“Mary Poppins”-inspired Mother’s Day card

Hello! Today I am sharing a Mother’s Day created with products from the Carta Bella – Practically Perfect collection (which is “Mary Poppins”-inspired) and cardstock supplied by Paper-Garden.ca. They are having a Mother’s Day card challenge in which I am participating.

“Mary Poppins”-inspired Mother’s Day card

I dry-embossed the cardstock supplied by Paper-Garden.ca with the Carta Bella – Practically Perfect collection Butterfly Garden stencil and cut it with a Mama Elephant scallop die. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Lovely Mums set on a strip of white cardstock, which I adhered to the dry-embossed background. I then added pieces of ephemera and chipboard from the Carta Bella – Practically Perfect collection.

This card came together quickly! It’s not like most cards that I make, but I just couldn’t resist the fun “Mary Poppins”-inspired supplies. (Although my mother is no longer alive, she was a big “Mary Poppins” fan and “practically perfect in every way.”) If you are interested in participating in the card challenge, you can find the full details and signup on this page.

Die-cut Chickens

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card combining die-cuts from the Marianne Design Eline’s Chicken Family set with a sentiment in the Technique Tuesday Chicken Family stamp set. This card also combines the design element of color with the die-cut technique (two of my favorite things when it comes to card making).

For the card background, I applied Tumbled Glass ink to Neenah cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Ranger black ink. To create the chickens, I grabbed a bunch of Stampin’ Up cardstock colors and cut them with the Eline’s Chicken Family die set until I liked the combinations (I tried several different yellows, oranges, and reds before deciding).

Taylored Expressions – Card Maps Sketches

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards created with  Taylored Expressions supplies using sketches from Card Maps.

My first card features the Seas the Day stamp set sentiment paired with the Little Bits – Sailboat die cut for a nautical-themed card using a square sketch.

Card Maps May 2018For the card base, I stamped the Striped Background with Sprinkles ink on Sugar Cube cardstock. I stamped the Seas the Day sentiment in Blue Corn ink on a square cut from Sugar Cube cardstock. I cut the Little Bits – Sailboat from Cherry Pop,  Earl Grey, and Sugar Cube cardstock and assembled it. I cut two squares from Blue Corn cardstock and dry-embossed them with the On the Spot embossing folder for the ocean water. I dry-embossed the Sugar Cube cardstock square on the right with the Cloudy Days embossing folder. I added fish cut with the On the Water – Fishing Boat set from Lemon Meringue cardstock to the water for a bit of color.

Here is the horizontal sketch I used:

Card Maps May 2018I stamped the Laurels sentiment in Lollipop ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and cut it with one of the Stitched Circle Stacklets dies. I cut two additional circles with the same die. I cut the flowers with the Mini BloomersMini Bloomers 2, Bloomers 5, and Bloomers 6 die sets from Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop, and Lemon Meringue cardstock and assembled them. I cut the rectangle panel from patterned paper in the Playful Patterns – Sweet package and added scallop edges cut with the Postage Stamp Edger die from Strawberry Milkshake cardstock. I added the assembled panel to a card base covered with patterned paper from the Playful Patterns – Sweet package.

The Adventure Begins – a Die-Cut Camping Scene

Hello! Today I am sharing a camping scene in which I have combined the Spellbinders Camping die set with a sentiment in the Hero Arts The Adventure Begins stamp set. With warmer weather here in the PNW, my thoughts turn to outside adventures.

To create the sky, I inked white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Blueprint Sketch. I then added Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to darken the sky.

The back row of trees was cut with the Poppystamps Pine Tree Border from black cardstock. The tent was cut from Chili Pepper cardstock and Taylored Expressions Earl Grey cardstock. I trimmed away the tent portion of the piece I cut from the gray cardstock. I cut the ground (using the MFT Snow Drifts die set) and the trees (included in the Spellbinders Camping die set) from Lawn Fawn Noble Fir cardstock. I cut the lantern from TE Silver Foil Cardstock and added a tiny circle cut from TE Potato Chip cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped on a panel of Taylored Expressions Toffee cardstock from which I cut the circle in the center to create a frame. The card base was created with Lawn Fawn Blue Jay cardstock.
