Spellbinders – Merry & Bright Poinsettias

Hello! Today, I am delighted to share a CAS Christmas card created with the Spellbinders Poinsettia die set, part of the Charming Christmas Collection by Becca Feeken. This is my second card using this set, see my first card here.

Spellbinders - Merry & Bright Poinsettias

To begin, I stamped Whip Cream cardstock with light gray ink using the Vintage Notes Stamp. The effect is subtle. I cut the poinsettia blossoms from the stamped white cardstock and the leaves from silver foil. I assembled the blooms using a silver brad.

I heat-embossed one of the Charming Tag Sentiments on a Candy Apple card base, which had been cut with a die in the Vintage Stitched Squares set. To finish off the card, I added Holiday Sparkles Gems.

HO HO HO – Ten-Minute CAS Christmas Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card that took almost no time to create.

The card base was stamped with the Taylored Expressions Buffalo Plaid background stamp. I cut the sentiment from glitter cardstock with the Lawn Fun Alpha dies and adhered the letters to a rectangle cut with one of the Small Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. The sentiment panel was attached to the background with foam adhesive squares.

I like this card’s “on trend” background with a little bit of bling from the glitter cardstock.

Winter Wishes – Die-cut Ornaments

Hello! I like the ornament motif on holiday cards, and I have a collection of ornament dies. Today, I am sharing a card showcasing the newest addition to my collection – the Poppy Stamps Pinpoint Shaker Ornament. I liked it so much, I cut it twice!

Winter Wishes - Die-cut OrnamentsThe Poppy Stamps Pinpoint Shaker Ornament die is designed to work with the Retro Ornaments die set. I don’t own that set but found that the Impression Obsession Vintage Ornament die set worked for my purposes. I white heat-embossed one of my favorite sentiments (from the now-retired Hero Arts Operation Write Home Winter Wishes set) on deep blue cardstock. I cut the other ornament from pink cardstock and added a Savvy Stamps snowflake.

The ornament strings were cut with the Impression Obsession Vintage Ornament set. To create the background, I stamped the Taylored Expressions Snow Day Background stamp in Sea Glass ink on white cardstock.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018 – Day 1

Hello! Today I am sharing a Christmas tag as part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. I was inspired by Lin Brandyberry’s Snowman tag on Day 1. I have wanted to use the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Snowman die for awhile, and this event provided just the opportunity.

I cut the snowman from Marshmallow cardstock, the scarf and hat band from Crimson Glitter cardstock, and the hat from black glitter paper in the AC pack. The eyes, nose, and buttons were cut from black foil cardstock.

I used a now-retired My Favorite Things tag set for the actual tag, which I cut from patterned paper in my stash. I heat-embossed the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Snow Globe Sentiments set on another piece of patterned paper, which I cut with the same tag die and attached underneath the other piece (which I trimmed a bit). I used Doodlebug Design twine to finish off the tag.

Spellbinders – Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Kit

Spellbinders - Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month KitHello! Today, I am delighted to share two projects created with this month’s Amazing Paper Grace kit from Spellbinders. The Christmas Village Vignette Frame Die Set is perfect for making holiday themed cards. It can be used to create stand-alone projects and coordinates with the previously-released Grand Cabinet 3D Card Etched Die Set. I was amazed at how easy it was to achieve elegant cards with just a few die cuts!

Let’s take a look at my first card.

On my first card, I used the large dies in the kit to create a frame for my holiday scene. I cut the sentiment panel from gold foil and attached Santa and his reindeer behind the panel. I taped the sentiment panel to the frame on the inside. I attached the die-cut snowbank panels and the patterned paper snow background to the back of the frame with dimensional adhesive. I attached the entire assembly to a back piece cut with the frame outline die.

I attached the assembly to the patterned paper base, which measures 5 1/4″ x 6″.

For my second card, I used the large frame piece to cut a shaped card base. I did not cut the shape on the left hand side where the fold is located. I used the same shape to cut patterned paper, with which I covered the base.

Spellbinders - Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month KitI used the large frame and detailed frame to cut the white cardstock background. I cut the two snowbank pieces and backed the assembly with glitter paper. I stamped the front snowbank piece with a sentiment from the Charming Tag Sentiments set. The church and trees were adhered to the scene.
