Spellbinders Sunday Drive

Hello! Today I am delighted to share two cards – wedding and birthday – created with the new Spellbinders Sunday Drive die set and the Hitched add-on die set.

Spellbinders Sunday Drive

The Sunday Drive set includes the pieces to create the convertible car, as well as balloons, HAPPY letter dies, a package, and a Birthday license plate.

I couldn’t resist creating a red convertible and used primary colors to tie in with the patterned paper.

The Hitched die set works with the Sunday Drive set to create a wedding card.  I used the flowers and foliage from the set, along with dies from the April Small Die of the Month set to cut the heart balloons. The set also includes dies to add tin cans to the bumper, which I didn’t use.

I glued strands of floss behind the balloons and tucked the strings in between layers on the car.

Hello! Today I am sharing two elegant CAS cards created with die sets from the Flourished Fretwork collection by Becca Feeken at Spellbinders.

I created my first card with the Oval Coronet set. The set includes five dies: a small oval (which I didn’t use), an ornate oval overlay, a solid oval of the same size, an ornate base oval, and a base oval of the same size.

I cut the ornate elements from Whip Cream cardstock. I cut the background of the small oval from Robin’s Egg cardstock and the base background from Calypso Coral cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in gold ink in the center of the top oval. I dry-embossed the Petal Pink background with the Inspire embossing folder. I added flowers created with a die in the Floral Tiara Topper set, to which I adhered centers punched with a hole punch from Brush Gold cardstock.

On my second card I used the Richelieu Square set.

The Richelieu Square die set includes six dies: an ornate circle, a circle die of the same size without detail, an ornate square, a square die of the same size without detail, and a 4.4″ square border die, and a square die of the same size. I cut the ornate pieces from Whip Cream cardstock. The background of the circle and large square were cut from Calypso Coral and the smaller rectangle from Robin’s Egg cardstock. I left off a front sentiment to allow the ornate elements speak for themselves.

Penny Black – Hope Blooms

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS encouragement or friendship card created with Penny Black supplies. Despite the pandemic (our state is under stay-at-home orders until early May), the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the sun is out.

Penny Black - Hope Blooms

    • I stamped a sentiment from the #30-703 Blooming Sentiments set in black ink on blue cardstock and cut the panel with a 3 1/2″ square die.
    • I cut the tree and flowers with the #51-596 Bird and Branch set. I adhered the tree to the square and trimmed as necessary. I added the flowers with glue.
    • I die-cut the birds using the #51-094 Tweets and #51-050 Tweet Things sets and added them to the panel with foam adhesive.
    • The 4 1/4″ square card base is Bazzill Orange Peel cardstock.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Monkey Birthday Card

Hello! I recently created a listed of occasions for which I regularly need cards. While I create a lot of holiday-specific cards (Halloween, Christmas, Easter),  I’m often short on Thank You and birthday cards. Today I am sharing a whimsical birthday card featuring the Elizabeth Craft Designs Monkey. I’ve previously used this set here and here.

  • I die-cut the Monkey body from Bazzill 12 x 12 textured cardstock in brown and ivory. I own a lot of 12 x 12 cardstock from the period of time during which I scrapbooked.
  • I used the Lawn Fawn Make Me Smile dies to cut the eyes, nose, and mouth from black cardstock.
  • I assembled the monkey. Once assembled I decided that the ivory cardstock needed a little more color and I added Tea Dye ink with a small sponge applicator.
  • I cut the balloon and party hat using the Party Accessories set.
  • I stamped the sentiment on to a patterned paper rectangle.
  • I added the elements to the card.
