Rubbernecker | Spring-themed Gnome Card

Happy almost spring (in the Northern Hemisphere)! Today, I am sharing a whimsical, spring-themed card created with Rubbernecker supplies.

Rubbernecker | Spring-themed Gnome Card

Create the card base
  • Stamp Kittie Says Spring Time sentiment on a white cardstock panel in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
  • Place vellum strip 2 1/4 inches below sentiment. Apply blue ink upwards for sky.
  • Place vellum strip above the horizon line and apply brown ink for the ground.
  • Trim inked panel to A2 size and add to card base.
Create the die-cut elements
  • Color white cardstock with a variety of inks from which to cut the pots, watering can, flowers, and gnomes.
  • Die-cut Tulips and Stems from inked cardstock.
  • Die-cut garden pots with the Large Garden Pots die set. Glue bases to bottoms of the pots. Apply darker ink to edges to create the illusion of volume.
  • Die-cut gnomes with Gnome Couple set from inked cardstock. Assemble with glue.
  • Die-cut spade with Cart Accessories #1 set from inked cardstock and metallic cardstock. Trim inked handle and glue onto metallic spade.

Final Assembly
  • Add elements to card base, starting with the garden pots (tulips and girl gnome are taped to the back of the pots). Build depth by adding the male gnome and watering can with foam adhesive.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Christmas Gnomes

Hello! I hope you are having a festive December thus far. Today, I am sharing a Christmas card featuring the Elizabeth Craft Designs Gnomes die set, which I just couldn’t resist.

  • I die-cut the Gnomes pieces including the packages from felt, cardstock, and glitter cardstock and assembled them. (The felt is from Taylored Expressions.) You can use the Farmer die set to cut the eyes.
  • I heat-embossed the Bitty Holiday Wishes (now retired) sentiment in Red Geranium and cut it with a banner die.
  • I added the Gnomes, with packages, and sentiment to now-retired Lawn Fawn patterned paper. Initially I had planned to die-cut a snowbank, however, this paper worked well with the bright felt colors.

Rubbernecker – Gnomes on the Beach

Hello! Today I am sharing a friendship card showcasing the Gnome Couple die set at Rubbernecker. I previously featured this die set on a card here.

Rubbernecker - Gnomes on the Beach

  • I die cut the Gnome Couple from colored cardstock and assembled the pieces.
  • I die-cut the Palm Trees from colored cardstock. Before assembling the trees, I added Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to help blend the two cardstock colors.
  • I die-cut the Lifeguard Tower from colored cardstock and assembled the pieces.
  • I stamped the sentiment on to white cardstock and added inks for the sky and sand. This is my “go to” sentiment for gnome-themed cards.

Rubbernecker Dies – Gnomes on Vacation

Hello and Aloha! Today I am sharing a vacation-themed card created with Rubbernecker die sets. I purchased winter supplies from Rubbernecker at the end of last year, and I’ve recently added more dies to my collection.

Rubbernecker Dies - Gnomes on Vacation

  • I die cut the Gnome Couple from colored cardstock and assembled the pieces.
  • I die-cut the Palm Trees from colored cardstock. Before assembling the trees, I added Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to help blend the two colors.
  • I die-cut the Beach Bag with accessories from colored cardstock and assembled the pieces.
  • I printed the sentiment on to white cardstock on my computer and cut it with the frame.
  • I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide onto a rectangle. I blended Desert Sand ink on to cardstock and cut it with a die in the Deckle Hills set.
  • I adhered the Deckle Frame to the sky and sand with foam adhesive. I added the palm trees to the scene, followed by the gnome couple and the beach bag, which are popped up with foam and fall outside of the scene.
  • I added the framed assembly to an orange cardstock base.

Cottage Cutz Garden Gnome (Tomte)

Hello! Today I am sharing a garden-themed card featuring the Cottage Cutz Flower Power Tomte. As I have mentioned in previous posts sharing Cottage Cutz projects, the die-cutting and assembly is a bit like working a puzzle.

Cottage Cutz Garden Gnome

  • I die-cut the tomte pieces from a variety of cardstock pieces, including some to which I applied Distress inks.
  • I cut the cart pieces with the Puppy in Garden Cart set, adding the Tomte set bird. (The eyes of the bird are microbeads; it was no small feat adding them!)
  • The assembled pieces were added to a card base on which I stamped the Happy Gnomies sentiment and created a horizon with Distress Oxide inks.
