Merry Monday Christmas Challenge – Penguins

Hello. I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge whose theme this week is Penguins. I created a CAS card showcasing the Marianne Design Penguin die set.

The Marianne Design Penguin die set includes two penguin options. (I purchased my set from 123Stitch. Marianne Design is headquartered in The Netherlands and sells through a few US retailers.)

I created the background scene by partially die-cutting the mountain included the Marianne Design Igloo and Mountain set. I had to hand cut the edges to span the card’s width. I did this as I didn’t want too many layers on the card (I often have two or three snow hills!). The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Let It Snow set.

Merry Monday Challenge – Stenciled Evergreen Ornament Scene

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up (the link -up runs until August 31 at noon) with another CAS card featuring the Stamper’s Anonymous Tim Holtz Woodland stencil, this time used to create a scene within the Impression Obsession Round Ornament.

Stenciled Evergreen Ornament SceneThe Tim Holtz Woodland stencil includes two evergreen trees, each with a snow overlay. I began by stenciling the trees in the background with Iced Spruce Distress Ink. I then inked the center tree with Pine Needles followed by Unicorn White Pigment ink using the snow portion of the stencil. Once dry, I cut the scene with the Impression Obsession Round Ornament. I heat-embossed the Hero Arts Christmas Messages sentiment on Stampin’ Up Tranquil Tide. To finish I added snowflakes cut with the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes die.

Let It Snow – Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up

Hello! I’m still playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up (sadly, this challenge no longer is existence) with a CAS snow/ski-themed card featuring the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set.

I began by die-cutting and assembling the skis and poles. I added Vintage Photo Distress ink to the skis for a little bit more color. I stamped the Hero Arts Let It Snow sentiment on white cardstock, which I die-cut with the mountain die in the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set. I dry-embossed the MFT Stamps Timber Green cardstock base with the Taylored Expressions Cable Knit embossing folder for texture.

Merry Monday Challenge – Stenciled Snow-Covered Evergreen Trees

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up with a CAS card featuring the Stamper’s Anonymous Tim Holtz Woodland stencil.

It took me a couple of tries to create this design. To begin, I stamped the Christmas Messages sentiment in Memento Luxe Love Letter ink on the white cardstock panel.

The Tim Holtz Woodland stencil includes two evergreen trees, each with a snow overlay. I started with the taller tree, as it is in the background, by inking it with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce and then with Unicorn White pigment ink. Once dry, I inked the two smaller trees with a combination of Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles followed by Unicorn White pigment ink. To finish off the card, I added a star die-cut from Gold Leaf Cardstock to one of the trees. The card base evergreen cardstock was cut from a 12″ x 12″ Bazzill piece I had in my stash.

Merry Monday Summer Link-up – Die-cut Ornaments

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up with a CAS card using turquoise blue, green, and purple. This isn’t a color scheme I often use (perhaps one I have never used) and it took a bit to figure out what element I would make which color.

I stamped the Candy Stripe Bold Prints background cardstock (Stampin’ Up) with VersaMark for a subtle pattern after trying the coordinating Stampin’ Up ink (which was too dark). To keep things clean, I heat-embossed the Christmas Messages sentiment on the die-cut ornament.
