Penny Black Halloween Camper

Hello! Today, I am sharing a Halloween-themed card created with Penny Black die sets. The 51-645 Campers die set was released this summer and I used it on a camping-themed card here. I wanted to test-drive it (pun intended) for a different season.

Penny Black – Fall Bouquet

Hello! As I patiently wait for products from the new Penny Black Autumn 2021 release, I am sharing a fall-themed card created with previously-released Penny Black supplies.

  • Stamp 30-794 Hedgehugs sentiment and cut with tag die.
  • Adhere double-sided adhesive to vellum and cut with 51-142 Mason Jar die.
Apply Distress ink to outside to simulate water.
  • Die-cut 51-653 Autumn Decor (blooms and foliage) from cardstock colored with Distress Oxide inks. Assemble.
  • Arrange blooms on card background, peel adhesive from back of 51-142 Mason Jar, and adhere to blooms, being sure that the top of the jar is loose. Attach sentiment tag to twine and tie around the top of the jar.

Penny Black – Smell the Sea

Hello! I cannot believe that this is the last full week of August! The summer has flown by. Today I am sharing an “end of summer card” showcasing the Penny Black 30-844 At Ease stamp set, from their “Dream & Discover” collection.

Penny Black "At Ease"

  • With the 30-844 At Ease set, I stamped the beach houses. I then colored the images with Copics and colored pencils and fussy-cut them.
  • Separately I stamped the houses on to cardstock to which I applied Distress Oxide inks for the sky, ocean, and sand. Before applying the ink, I masked the flag and fish kite.
  • Next, I stamped the sentiment and birds with Archival Ink. After removing the masks, I colored the flag and the fish kite. I added the fussy-cut houses to the panel. The card measure 7 inches wide by 5 inches tall.

Penny Black Tropical Hello

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS tropical card created with die sets from Penny Black. I won’t have the chance to make many more summer-themed cards this year!

  • Penny Black Tropical HelloI cut the sprigs in the background with the 51-119 Flower Frolic die.
  • I cut the foliage in the right-hand corner with the 51-643 Tropical Paradise set. I shared a card using this die set here.
  • I used the 51-638 Thanks & Hello set to cut the sentiment (twice for depth).
  • I used a Taylored Expressions embossing folder (Weathered) for texture on the background.

Penny Black Ship in a Bottle

Ahoy! Today I am sharing a CAS, masculine, nautical-themed card created with the stamp set 30-842 Set Sail from Penny Black. I have always been fascinated with concept of a ship in a bottle (although I have never been inclined to make one!). Anyone else feel as if summer is winding down? I am in the process of making Halloween cards, Christmas cards, as well as summer-themed cards. (A crazy time of year!)

Penny Black Ship in a Bottle

This card has two layers (in addition to the card base) – the ship in the bottle and the sentiment panel. (I could have taken another step in masking to achieve a one-layer image.)

  • To create the ship in the bottle, I stamped the boat, stamped the bottle around the boat, and stamped the boat and top part of the bottle on masking paper, which I fussy-cut.
  • I masked the boat image and top of the bottle (cork and seal) before applying inks to the bottle to create a sky and ocean.
  • I colored the boat, as well as the seal and cork on the bottle, and then fussy-cut the bottle.
  • For the sentiment panel, I stamped the sentiment and applied inks to create a horizon line for the bottle. I stamped the bottle on to the panel so that the string around the top and the detail of the bottle (on the left-hand side) would be included.
  • I adhered the bottle to the panel and the assembly to the card base.
