Keep Shining Bright – CAS Encouragement Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS encouragement/friendship card in which I have combined a die-cut, a stencil, and a heat-embossed sentiment. I really like the versatility of this sentiment and its message. I am finishing out the week with another card featuring primary colors. What’s up with that?!

Keep Shining Bright - CAS Encouragement Card

    • To begin, I applied Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink through the Radiating Rays stencil. I trimmed the stenciled panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″.
    • I heat-embossed the Seeing Stars sentiment (now retired) on SU Real Red cardstock. I cut the sentiment with the MFT Horizontal Hearts in a Row banner die (now retired).
    • I die-cut the lantern with a die in the Camping set (now retired) from SU Smoky Slate cardstock. I added a small die-cut circle, cut from cardstock to which I had applied Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink, as the light. I have a thing for these types of lanterns. They symbolize warmth and safety to me.
    • I cut a circle from SU Blueberry Bushel cardstock as a mat for the sentiment and the lantern. Both the sentiment and the lantern were added to the circle with foam adhesive.
    • I added the panel to a linen-card base. I’ve been using Bazzill 12″ x 12″ cardstock with a linen finish a lot lately because I just happened to have several pieces near my rotary cutter.

Vacation Time – Die-cut Scene

Hello! Today I’m dreaming of an island getaway! We have light snow in the forecast, and I’m ready for warmer temps. On my CAS card I’ve combined a variety of stamps and die-cuts to create a tropical scene.

Vacation Time - Die-cut Scene

  • I stamped the Impression Obsession background stamp twice in Stampin’ Up Daffodil Delight on white cardstock. One side of the stamp image is grungier than the other and I wanted the less grungy portion on both sides. I trimmed the panels and adhered them to an A2 base.
  • I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Vacation Time sentiment on a strip of white cardstock which covers the seam of the background.
  • I added a sand hill and straight line of ocean to the white panel.
  • I die-cut the Lawn Fawn crab and palm trees and adhered them to the scene.

Hope you have a terrific day!

Simon Says Stamp – You Bring Sunshine

Hello! We have had wild windstorms here in the Pacific Northwest, including one that knocked out power for the day. With gray skies overhead, I created a CAS colorful friendship card.

Simon Says Stamp - You Bring Sunshine

I combined the Folk Dance die with a sentiment in the Choose Joy set. I created a panel that I adhered to the back of the die-cut card front from a rainbow of Distress Ink Oxide colors.

Hope your day is filled with sunshine (literally and/or metaphorically)!

CAS Valentine’s Day Die-Cut Birds

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with a combination of die cuts. I have officially moved on from Christmas crafting.

CAS Valentine's Day Die-Cut Birds

The card spotlights the Elizabeth Craft Designs Birds die set; I dressed the birds for cold weather (one of the things I like about crafting Valentine’s Day cards is an opportunity to extend winter-themed supplies). I used Simon Says Stamps dies for the heart background and the sentiment and framed the scene with a now-retired My Favorite Things die. The base is dry-embossed with a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder.

Happy New Year!

Tim Holtz – CAS Christmas Ornament

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with items from the Tim Holtz Stamptember Stamps and Stencils set. I fell in love with this sentiment the moment I saw it!

Tim Holtz - CAS Christmas Ornament

To create the ornament, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment on vellum, which I had backed with double-sided adhesive. I cut the heat-embossed vellum with a circle die and added the ornament top and string, which had been cut from silver foil.

I used the tree stencil from the Tim Holtz set to create the background. I added some Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes to complete the scene.
