Spellbinders Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards created with Glimmer Foil Plates from the recently-released Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken: the Sweet Blooms Border and the Heart Melt Sentiments.

On the first card, I used the Sweet Blooms Border in its entirety on the left-hand side of the card balanced with the sentiment on an oval.

On the second card, I used portions of the Sweet Blooms Border on a color-block card.

  • I glimmer foiled the sentiment from the Heart Melt Sentiments set in Gold on Whip Cream cardstock and cut it with its coordinating die.
  • I glimmer foiled the Sweet Blooms Border in Gold on four different colored cardstock pieces.
  • I cut the foiled pieces with the 2 ” square die.
  • I taped the squares together on the back and added the assembly to a textured cardstock 4 1/4″ square.
  • I added that assembly to a 4 1/2″ Brush Gold card base.
  • I added the sentiment in the center with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders December Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop sharing projects created with the Spellbinders December 2020 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Jennifer Snyder. (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created two CAS holiday cards using this month’s Small Die of the Month kit (“Daydreaming”) and Large Die of the Month kit (“Look Behind the Curtain”).

I previously shared projects using these dies here and here.

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on the Spellbinders blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, December 13th, 11:59 pm MST. The winner will be announced in this blog hop post the following Tuesday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes. Please note: store credit (gift certificate) cannot be applied to Club Subscriptions; store credit can be applied to shop past Club products, Club extras, and regular releases.

I used the same approach on both cards: patterned paper as the scene through the window, the Small Die of the Month window oriented horizontally on a card base glimmer foiled with a Holiday Series 2 sentiment, and a curtain created with the Large Die of the Month curtain panel (cut in two) .

The Large Die of the Month set includes dies to create a moving curtain panel. Figuring that a lot of people might be short on time during the holidays, I wanted to show how to create cards without an operable curtain. With the Large Die of the Month set, I cut one curtain panel and cut it into two pieces. I framed the window scene with the panels and the curtain valance. Quick and simple!

On the second scene, I added a cat cut with a die in the Small Die of the Month set along with packages cut with dies in the Home for the Holidays set.

  • I stamped the row of ballerinas with “Hello” and  “Friend” on a Whip Cream cardstock panel.
  • I Copic-colored the ballerinas before diecutting the top of the panel with the curtain slot.
  • I cut the curtain pieces from red velvet cardstock and the rods from gold foil.
  • I added the Whip Cream panel to a Brush Gold card base and added the curtain assembly.
  • Once everything was in place, I embellished the curtains with gold sequins.

Here’s a view of the card with the curtain panels closed:

Spellbinders December 2020 Small and Large Die Kit Clubs

Hello and happy December! Today, I am sharing cards created with this month’s Small Die of the Month kit (“Daydreaming”) and Large Die of the Month kit (“Look Behind the Curtain”) at Spellbinders.

My first card showcases the Small Die of the Month kit that is packed with dies with which to create window scenes.

I cut the starry panes from dark blue cardstock and again (without the star insert) from light yellow. The set contains three sentiments. I chose the one that best works with the nighttime scene.

I added the cat, the moon, and the potted plants to the scene, as well as gold sequins. I added the window assembly to a patterned paper background.

On the second card, I have combined the Small Die of the Month kit named “Daydreaming” and Large Die of the Month, which contains dies with which to create an operable curtain. I created a daytime scene with the Small Die of the Month kit, using the rectangular window without the arch window.

Here’s the card with the curtains open:

  • I assembled the scene, which includes two cats and potted plants, and set it aside.
  • Following the directions for the curtain assembly, I die-cut the curtain pieces from patterned paper and gold foil (finials).
  • I attached the curtains to a yellow panel which contains the slots for the curtain mechanism.
  • I then added the window scene.

Here’s what the card looks like with the curtains closed:
