Fall Die-Cut Scene – TE Share Joy Challenge #53

Hello! I’m playing along with Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #53.

TE Share Joy Challenge #53

I used the sketch to create a fall-themed scene:

I stamped the Birch Tree Background and cut it out with a circle in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set. I created a lot of pumpkins with Little Bits – Fall Harvest and the Little Bits – Fox placing them in the On the Road – Wagon (I wanted the fox to appear to be almost camouflaged by the pumpkins). I used a sentiment from Woodsy Wishes (the sentiments in the set have just the right touch of whimsy!).

Ghostly Greetings! – Share Joy Challenge #52

Hello! I’m playing along with Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #52.

TE Share Joy Challenge #52

I created a CAS Halloween-themed card:

TE Share Joy Challenge #52

I had the “Ghost Busters” movie in the back of my mind as I created this card. I cut the Downtown Border and backed it with cardstock (some of the windows were not punched out). I backed the Little Bits – Ghosts with gray cardstock and attached the ghosts with foam to the background, on which I had stamped the sentiment from the Boo to You set. I framed the scene with one of the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 dies.

When I was done, my husband suggested something be added above the sentiment (“like a bat,” he said). Luckily I had just the thing – a bat from the Haunted Accessories set.

Taylored Expressions Mini Caps Alpha Dies

Hello! I’m sharing two projects (a card and a scrapbook layout) using Taylored Expressions Mini Caps Alpha & #’s dies. These dies are great for personalizing a project!

First up – a needle crafts-themed card – with a punny sentiment.

Taylored Expressions Mini Caps Alpha & #'s

I cut the letters and adhered them to the Cross Stitch dry-embossed background within the Embroidery Hoop. I added a heart cut with Little Bits – Buttons (to represent the word “love”) and a needle cut with Little Bits – Needle & Thread. I added thread to the button and to the needle and adhered the frame to a background, which I had been dry-embossed with the Cable Knit embossing folder.

Supplies for the Needle Crafts Card:

For my second project, I created a scrapbook layout for which I used the Mini Caps Alpha & #’s to create a title and embellishment.

I was a scrapbooker before I was a cardmaker, and my layouts have, for the most part, been light on embellishments, allowing the journaling and photos to do the heavy lifting. For this layout, chronicling a special trip my husband and son took this past summer, I created the “GO” embellishment by adhering letters cut with the Mini Caps Alpha & #’s set on to a circle, which I had cut with one of the dies in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set. I also die cut the letters for the title, adhering them on to the journaling card, which I cut with a die in the Stitched Square Stacklets set. I printed the date onto cardstock with my computer printer and cut it with the Tab Edger die.

It’s great to be able to personalize a scrapbook page with coordinated embellishments and title without buying any additional supplies!

HB2U – Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #51

Hello! I’m playing along with Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #51.
TE Share Joy Challenge #51

I used the sketch to create a birthday card:

TE Share Joy Challenge #51

I used just one of the layers in the Build a Cake set (this die set is so versatile!). I let the colors in the TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Hello Happiness dictate the other colors in the card. I heat-embossed a sentiment from Bold Brushstrokes.

When I finished, the Strawberry Milkshake cardstock panel looked unfinished, so I added a hand-drawn dotted line with a Uni-Ball Impact Gel Pen – White.

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions September 2016 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

Before you head off to shop, I have one more project to show you! My card showcases the Simply Stamped – Cupcakes stamp set with coordinating dies.

Taylored Expressions September 2016 Release

The stamp set includes two different cupcake top options, the cupcake base, lots of fun sentiments and toppings! I used the TE Premium Dye Inks to stamp the cupcakes and bases.

I used Salt Water Taffy ink for the cupcake base solid stamp and Cookie Monster ink for the detail.  On the pink cupcakes, I stamped the solid image with Pink Champagne, stamped the next detail stamp with Strawberry Milkshake and used Lollipop for the other detail stamp. For the blue cupcake, I stamped the solid image with Salt Water Taffy ink, then Sugar Cube white pigment ink and lastly Cookie Monster.

Let’s take a look at the multi-stamp stamping process. In the tutorial, I’m showing how I stamp the cupcake base (which is a two-stamp process) using the MISTI and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig image pad.

For the cupcake tops, which are a three-step process, I did the same as above, repeating the last four steps with the most detailed stamp.
