Blooming Pomegranate | Spellbinders August 2023 Large Die

Hello! Today, I am sharing a thank you card showcasing the Spellbinders August 2023 Large Die of the Month kit – “Blooming Pomegranate.” This die set includes 23 dies that allow you to create a captivating botanical illustration of a pomegranate. Yesterday I shared a project created with the Small Die of the Month kit HERE.

For the botanical illustration, I chose teal, dark orange, dark red, yellow-gold, and white cardstock after looking at pomegranate illustrations online.

  • To begin, dry-emboss Waterfall cardstock with Scattered Fall embossing folder and trim to A2-size; add to card base.
  • Next, cut Large Die of the Month pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and assemble.
  • Next, glimmer foil the sentiment from Mini Everyday Sentiments in copper on Snowdrift cardstock. Cut with a banner die in the sentiment set.
  • Finally, add the card elements to the dry-embossed base by adhering the fruits and greenery. Finish by embellishing with white flowers.

Breezy Swing | Spellbinders August 2023 Small Die of the Month

I chose teal, dark orange, and yellow-gold cardstock colors to represent the change of seasons, from summer to fall in the Northern Hemisphere. The warm tones of orange and yellow evoke the anticipation of autumn’s golden hues.

  • To begin, dry-emboss Beeswax cardstock with Tiny Dots embossing folder and trim to A2-size; add to card base.
  • Next, cut Small Die of the Month pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and assemble.
  • Next, glimmer foil the sentiment from Sentiments for Everyday in teal on Snowdrift cardstock. Cut sentiment with On Cloud Nine die and cut additional clouds.
  • Finally, add the card elements to the dry-embossed base by adhering the woman on the swing assembly and clouds. Finish by embellishing with floral clusters.

Winter Wonderland | Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in the Lawn Fawnatics’ Christmas in July Challenge for which I have created a winter-themed card.

Winter Wonderland | Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

Lawn Fawnatics #153

  • For the challenge, I created a winter scene background featuring the Lawn Fawn Build-A-Cabin perched upon a gentle snowbank and a night sky adorned with stenciled snow. I previously shared cards showcasing the Build-A-Cabin HERE and HERE. Crafting the cabin from Sugar Plum cardstock added playfulness to the scene.
  • I stamped images from the adorable Lawn Fawn Snowball Fight set and brought them to life with watercolors. Mice throwing snowballs adds whimsy to the scene.
  • After applying white paste through the Snow Flurries Background, I sprinkled on Sparkle Dust Glitter and set the panel aside to dry.
  • When I assembled the scene, I used foam adhesive to add depth to the elements.
  • To embellish, I added Mini Snowflakes cut from Pop Up white glitter foam.

Sunny Studio Stamps | Playful Cats in Cupcakes

Hello! Step into a world of whimsy with a birthday card featuring the Sunny Studio Stamps Birthday Cat stamp set. This card captures the playful essence of cats nestled within scrumptious cupcakes, brought to life with watercolors.

Sunny Studio Stamps | Playful Cats in Cupcakes

    • To begin, stamp Birthday Cat images with Versafine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper; heat set. Color images with watercoloring mediums of choice. (Check out my “Resources for Watercoloring Stamped Images” HERE.) Once dry, cut with coordinating dies.
    • Create A2 card base and cover with gingham patterned paper.
    • Next, apply white pigment ink on to light teal cardstock with a stencil in the Cloud Background set. Once dry, cut with 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 stitched rectangle die.
    • Stamp Birthday Cat sentiment on to gray cardstock. Cut with the same stitched rectangle die, leaving room below the sentiment for die-cut letters. Trim top to create a horizon line and add to the cloud background panel. Add assembly to card base.
    • Cut “MEOW” from white glitter foam (non-glitter side up) with the Art Impressions Journal Letter die set. Add below “the party starts.”
    • With the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons set, cut balloons and strings. Assemble and add to card.
    • Add watercolored cats to card, propping up the cat in center with foam adhesive.

Hugs in a Mug – A Cozy Christmas Card

Hello! Picture a cozy scene filled with the aroma of cocoa and the joy of festive treats. Today, I am depicting that scene with the Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Winter Mug die set and the Holiday Treats stamp set.

Hugs in a Mug - A Cozy Christmas Card

The Warm Winter Mug die set and the Holiday Treats stamp set were part of the Cozy and Warm Collection, released last year; you can see more about the release in this video.

  • Cut the Warm Winter Mug pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and assemble.
  • To create the ombré background, apply Festive Berries Oxide ink to white cardstock.
  • Stamp the sentiment “hugs in a mug” from the Holiday Treats set on to the inked panel and trim to 5″ wide by 5 1/4″ tall. I let the width and height of the mug dictate the card size. Add panel to card base.
  • Finally, embellish with Mini Snowflakes cut from white glitter foam to fill the empty spaces and enhance the wintery feel.
