Spellbinders | Hummingbirds Birthday Card

Hello! Birthdays are one of those card-sending occasions that never go out of style, and that’s part of what makes them so satisfying to create. For this card, I used the Spellbinders January Large Die of the Month, Hummingbirds Delight, and leaned fully into color, which is a welcome change this time of year. The die set includes a beautiful frame, which makes it easy to anchor the design and add a sentiment along the bottom.

While I chose a birthday greeting here, this design easily adapts to many occasions including thank you or thinking of you, by swapping out the sentiment.

    • Create an A2-size card base from Blue Spruce cardstock.
    • Using the Large Die set frame die, cut the frame, leaves, flowers, and hummingbirds from a variety of cardstock colors. Assemble as necessary.
    • Add the floral piece to the backside of the frame.
    • Dry-emboss Seaside cardstock with the Cloud Nine folder and secure to the bottom portion of the frame. Place the assembly on to the card base. You need the top to be open to tuck the elements under the frame.
    • Add the elements to the top and sides of the frame. Secure frame to the dry-embossed background.
    • Press the You are Everything sentiment and add to the frame.
    • Add hummingbirds with foam squares.

It’s Never Too Late to Unwind

Hello! This card is a gentle reminder that pampering isn’t reserved for a special occasion or a certain stage of life. Created with the Spellbinders Unwind die set, this month’s Caboodle offering, the eye mask with heart details and cozy critter slippers set the tone for rest and comfort, while the sentiment makes it a perfect gal pal card. In cheerful reds, whites, and pinks against a playful pink polka dot background, this design celebrates friendship, self-care, and the simple truth that it’s never too late to slow down and indulge a little.

It’s Never Too Late to Unwind

    • Create an A2-size card base and cover it with patterned paper.
    • Using the Unwind die set, cut the eye mask and slippers from your chosen cardstock colors and assemble the pieces.
    • Stamp the sentiment and cut it out with the coordinating die.
    • Arrange and adhere the assembled elements and sentiment onto the prepared card base.

Better Together Owl Valentine Card

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a Valentine created with the Spellbinders “Better Together” die set, this month’s Small Die Kit. The kit includes pieces to build either cute owls or playful otters, and I chose to make a pair of owls perched on a branch. With hearts, flowers, and the lighthearted sentiment “you’re stuck with me,” this card is a fun way to send a little love to someone special.

    • To begin, cover an A2-size card base with patterned paper.
    • Stamp the sentiment with the Clear Stamp of the Month in black on white cardstock and cut with the coordinating die.
    • Cut the owls, branch, flowers, and greenery with dies in the “Better Together” set from a variety of cardstock colors. Assemble.

With the towel-wrapped hair and other pampering details, the card captures the joy of a relaxing spa day. It’s playful and stylish, and what matters most is that it’s a thoughtful, handmade way to send love and encouragement across generations.

Spellbinders | When Pigs Fly Charm

Hello! I’m back with another friendship card featuring the Spellbinders November Large Die of the Month. This time, I paired the purse design with the adorable flying pig charm from the Caboodle Offering. The mix adds a whimsical touch to the trendy bag charm theme. For this version, I used different patterned papers for the purse, background, and scarf. You can see my first card with the November Large Die set HERE.
