Merry Monday Christmas Challenge 264 – Kraft and Red

Hello! Today, I am sharing a holiday card created for this week’s Merry Monday Christmas Challenge to use Kraft and Red. This happens to be one of my favorite holiday color combinations.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #264

I created a card featuring two Memory Box poinsettia die sets – Small Blooming Poinsettia and Blooming Poinsettia. I connected the blooms with a die-cut sprig (it is cut in two underneath the large poinsettia), which was cut with the Memory Box Holiday Vine die from gold foil cardstock. I used Memory Box green paper for the leaves (no longer available) and Stampin’ Up Real Red for the poinsettias. The gold, heat-embossed sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up Embellished Ornaments set. After I had everything adhered, I took a look and felt the card looked a little blank. If I were a braver person, I might have sprinkled on Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine Spray in a few places! Fearing that would cause a mess, I added Neat and Tangled sequins. This particular mix includes three different sequin sizes.

One of the things I particularly like about these challenges is that they provide an opportunity to revisit supplies I already own! These Memory Box dies are several years old.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge – Penguins

Hello. I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge whose theme this week is Penguins. I created a CAS card showcasing the Marianne Design Penguin die set.

The Marianne Design Penguin die set includes two penguin options. (I purchased my set from 123Stitch. Marianne Design is headquartered in The Netherlands and sells through a few US retailers.)

I created the background scene by partially die-cutting the mountain included the Marianne Design Igloo and Mountain set. I had to hand cut the edges to span the card’s width. I did this as I didn’t want too many layers on the card (I often have two or three snow hills!). The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Let It Snow set.

For my second project, I created a set of note cards featuring the Laurels stamp set.

The stamp set features seven sentiments and four greenery variations. I stamped the greenery with Peapod ink and gold heat-embossed the sentiments on note cards cut with the Scalloped Notecard set. To finish off the cards, I added a bow, cut from gold foil cardstock, with a die in the Door to Door Winter Decor set.

Let It Snow – Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up

Hello! I’m still playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up (sadly, this challenge no longer is existence) with a CAS snow/ski-themed card featuring the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set.

Merry Monday Christmas Summer Link-up

I began by die-cutting and assembling the skis and poles. I added Vintage Photo Distress ink to the skis for a little bit more color. I stamped the Hero Arts Let It Snow sentiment on white cardstock, which I die-cut with the mountain die in the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set. I dry-embossed the MFT Stamps Timber Green cardstock base with the Taylored Expressions Cable Knit embossing folder for texture.

Taylored Expressions May 2017 Release – Day Three Sneak Peeks

Hello! Welcome to Day Three of the Taylored Expressions May Sneak Peeks. This month’s release features a variety of products appropriate for Father’s Day, masculine and little boy projects, and 4th of July!

My first project is a Father’s Day card.

I cut the Little Bits – Tools from Metallic Neutrals cardstock and other colors (for the handles) adding the assembled tools to a card base on which I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Said – Dad set. I added Block Party – Dad and a frame cut with Frame in Frame Cutting Plate. The card base was dry-embossed with the Plaid folder to reinforce the masculine theme.

My second project is a masculine notecard set showcasing the Gunny Sack Background stamp.

I stamped both Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstock with the Gunny Sack Background stamp, using four different TE ink colors – Pumpkin, Sweet Basil, Blue Corn and Chocolate Truffle. I die cut the Initially M from cardstock in those same colors (twice for each card for extra depth). For the Sugar Cube cards, I paired the initials with different colors than the background colors; the Blue Corn initial with the Pumpkin background, for example. For the Toffee cards, I paired initials with the same colors as the background colors. To package the gift set, I used the Simply Said – Dad with the Noteworthy Belly Band and Clear Card Box.
