Kick Back and Relax!

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” card (just because it’s almost Memorial Day, just because the days are warmer, …) featuring summer-themed stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions!

My card showcases the Little Bits – Margarita and Little Bits – Martini dies.

TE Little Bits Margarita & Martini

Aren’t those drinks fun? I’ve used the Little Bits dies to cut cardstock from a variety of colors. I cut the background from black cardstock with the Eventful – Pool Party die (I wanted a background against which the drinks would pop). I stamped a sentiment from the Little Bits of Summer set onto the card front (from which I cut a square with the Stitched Square Stacklets set to form a frame).

Mermaid Kisses – TE Share Joy Challenge #35

I’m playing along with the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #35.

Using the sketch, I created a card showcasing the Mermaid Kisses Stamp & Die Combo. This would be the perfect card for a young girl!

TE Share Joy Challenge #35

I stamped and colored the mermaid with Copic markers and cut her out with the corresponding die (goodbye fussy cutting!). I cut the stamped sentiment with one of the Stitched Banner Stacklets dies. I used patterned paper from my stash for the card background, accent strip and circle behind the mermaid (all Echo Park but different collections). The card base was dry-embossed with the On the Spot embossing folder.

Shore Do Love You!

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” nautical card!

Shore Do Love You

The buoy is cut with the CottageCutz Life Preserver Die. This is a “new to me” company which has a number of nautical-themed dies. They provide quite a bit of detail (for example, while you can’t see it, the rope is textured). I stamped the background with the My Favorite Things Wood Plank Background (you can never have too many wood-textured backgrounds!) and then cut it with one of the Lawn Fawn dies.  I used a die in the My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprints 20 set to cut the heat-embossed sentiment (Reverse Confetti Happy Harbor). I’m on the hunt for more nautical sentiment sets (I have many more nautical dies than nautical sentiments).

Supplies: CottageCutz Life Preserver die, Reverse Confetti Happy Harbor stamp set (retired)

#1 Dad – TE Share Joy Challenge #34

I’m playing along with the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #34.

I used the sketch to create a masculine card that could be used for Father’s Day, or any other occasion celebrating the Dad in your life (I’m using it for my husband’s upcoming birthday!).

TE Share Joy Challenge #34I went bold with the colors here! I played around with other “masculine” color schemes (for example, tan/navy/green) settling on this one because the orange flame and black BBQ grill cut with the Little Bits – Grill set worked best with the red and yellow. A frame cut with Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 made for a nice finished border.

I used a variety of cardstock colors to die cut the pieces in the set and added water cut with the Lakeside Border set, along with a hill cut with the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set. I stamped a sentiment from the Happy Trails stamp set onto an A2-sized panel from which I cut a circle to reveal the scene.
