Simon Says Stamp Holiday Release

Hello! Today I’m delighted to be sharing four CAS holiday cards created with the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Greetings stamp set as part of their Holiday release!

Let’s start with a card on which I combined several of the Stained Glass Greetings sentiments with a panel created with the Tim Holtz Mini Plaid stencil.

I heat-embossed “Christmas” and “Joy” and added them to the panel on which I had stenciled the plaid twice with Distress Oxide Black Soot ink.

For my second card, I heat-embossed the “Peace” sentiment with gold powder and stamped the smaller sentiment in Pine Needles ink. I die-cut the Memory Box Deco Trees from the stamped panel and backed the opening with dark green cardstock. I adhered the panel to a Schoolhouse Red cardstock base.

In a similar manner to the plaid card, I combined the “Christmas” and “Joy” sentiments with a panel created with the Tim Holtz Pines stencil and Distress Oxide Lucky Clover ink.

For my final card, I heat-embossed the set’s “Merry” sentiment with Red Geranium embossed powder on white cardstock, which I cut with the Memory Box Horse Sleigh Landscape die. The background was dry-embossed with the Tim Holtz Simple Snowflakes folder.

TE Ghost Town Border – Christmas Edition

Hello! Today, I am showing how to use the Taylored Expressions Ghost Town Border on a Christmas card!

The spookiest building in the border is on the right-hand side – you can see it on this Halloween card. To eliminate that building from my card, I created a vertical card and simply cut it out of the picture!

I cut the Ghost Town Border out of Sugar Cube cardstock and backed the windows with Cherry Pop and Lemon Meringue cardstock. I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Ornamental set on Blue Corn cardstock. I used the Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? die to create the scene in the foreground of the girls making a snowman. I also added a hill cut with a die in the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set and snowflakes cut with the Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti set to reinforce the winter/Christmas theme.

Vintage Style Halloween

Hello! Today I’m sharing two “vintage” CAS Halloween cards crafted with supplies from several different manufacturers.

For the first card, I used the emboss-resist method on patterned paper in my stash.

Halloween Vintage Style

I clear heat-embossed the Hero Arts Leaf and Floral background and then applied Distress Oxide Black Soot to the paper. The areas covered by the clear embossing were not colored. It is a great way to change the look of patterned paper.

I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts Ghostly Greetings on to another piece of patterned paper, which I cut with a circle die and added die-cut bats (from a now retired Memory Box set).

The second card uses a Memory Box wood stamp sentiment with the die-cut Memory Box Meadow Bird and older patterned paper.

Halloween Vintage Style

While vintage isn’t my “usual” cardmaking style, it’s fun to dabble in it every now and again.

Hello! Welcome to the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

I added the die-cut angel to a background on which I applied Distress Ink with a Clarity Stencil Brush and heat-embossed a sentiment in the Rejoice stamp set. I stamped the poinsettia and blooms, from the Holiday Florals set, cut them with their corresponding dies, and added them to the corner. The card base was dry-embossed with the Peaceful Poinsettia folder.

I applied a variety of Distress Inks to cardstock from which I cut out the Build a Scene – Nativity images. I added the scene to a background on which I applied Distress Ink with a Clarity Stencil Brush and heat-embossed a sentiment in the Rejoice stamp set. Certain images, such as the Virgin Mary, star, and angel, were adhered with foam adhesive.

Taylored Expressions – Countdown to Christmas

Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release Sneak Peeks.  The October products that have been sneaked this week will be released tomorrow – Thursday, October 5 @ 7 AM PST!

Today, I am featuring a Countdown to Christmas project, with twelve boxes to be opened on the twelve days leading up to Christmas, featuring the Matchbox die set with new holiday additions to the Matchbox line including Matchy Snowman and Matchy Penguin.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

I adhered magnetic tape to the back of the Matchbox cases and positioned them on a cookie sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree.

I used the Clearly Planned – Candy Cane Numbers and coordinating dies to create the countdown numbers for the boxes (some on the exterior and others on the interior). I used stamps in the Matchy Backgrounds – Holiday set to decorate box tops and drawer insides. I added snowflakes cut with the Make a Snowflake set for visual interest around the tree.

The contents of the Countdown to Christmas boxes include candy and Christmas activities!

I decorated several box tops with the Matchy Snowman and Matchy Penguin sets, which would be fun to use on their own on a card.
