My Happy Place

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card featuring the Cottage Cutz Potting Shed die set with a retired MFT stamp set (“Beach Bunnies”) sentiment, which I masked (the sentiment says “You Are My Happy Place”).

My Happy Place
I die-cut the pieces for the shed, watering can, and flower pot and assembled them with glue. The die is one piece, which you run through multiple times cutting different colored cardstock. I tried a number of different shed siding/roof/door color combinations. I saw a garden shed online with a teal door (gray siding), but when I tried teal cardstock, it just didn’t look the same. I really like all of the details that the set provides.

I stamped the sentiment and added a horizon by brushing Distress Ink for the sky and the grass.

My Happy Place

We recently had snow in the PNW. It’s melted now and there are daffodils popping up!

Cottage Cutz Gardening Mouse

Hello! Today I am sharing a garden (gardening)-themed Valentine.

Cottage Cutz Gardening Mouse

  • I die-cut the pieces of the Cottage Cutz Gardening Mouse from textured cardstock, cardstock colored with Distress Inks, and silver foil. I used the Fishing Gear set to cut the mouse’s eyes.
  • I glued the mouse, tools, and dirt.
  • I stamped the garden-themed sentiment on white cardstock and colored the background with Distress Ink.
  • I cut the sentiment panel with a now-retired dotted rectangle.
  • I added the panel to a patterned paper background and the assembled mouse to the sentiment panel.

Let’s Get Nautical – Cottage Cutz Die Sets

Ahoy! Today I am sharing a nautical-themed card featuring die sets from Cottage Cutz and one of my favorite color schemes. I have had my eye on these sets for a while now (they were released several years ago).

Let's Get Nautical

  • I cut the Paddles & Rope Net and Crab in colors to coordinate with the Carta Bella patterned paper.
  • I assembled the pieces.
  • I dry-embossed the navy circle with the TE Weathered folder.
  • I stamped the now-retired Stampin’ Up sentiment in navy ink on white cardstock and cut it with a circle die.

What I like about this card: the nautical theme, the red/white/blue color scheme, and the patterned paper.

Freshly Made Sketches #399 – Nautical-Themed

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS, nautical-themed card for the Freshly Made Sketches #399 Challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #399

This was an easy sketch with which to work and my card came together quickly!

Freshly Made Sketches #399 - Nautical-Themed

  • I stamped the SU Pool Party square with a Stampin’ Up sentiment (Hello, Sailor retired set) in SU Night of Navy ink.
  • I die-cut the anchor (WPlus9 Nautical Notions) from SU Night of Navy cardstock, the crab (TE Little Bits – Crustaceans) from SU Real Red, and the rope and life ring with the Cottage Cutz Rope Corner set.
  • I added the elements to the sentiment stamped panel (using foam adhesive for the crab, life ring, and the anchor) and added the assembly to the square card base.

I’m already thinking of other ideas for this sketch!

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #263

Hello! Today, I am sharing a holiday card inspired by the image shown for Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #263.

I really like this image and would love to set up this hot cocoa bar in my home! The cards from the team are fantastic! My card was most inspired by the one shown by Kelly Lunceford.

Merry Monday Challenge #263

I went through my patterned paper and pulled out the woodgrain and the peppermint. I still have A LOT of patterned paper purchased in past years! The What’s in Your Cup? mug is from Penny Black. The candy cane is from the CottageCutz Peppermint Latte set. The sentiment – Subway Series: Holidays – is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps (now retired).

Merry Monday Challenge #263

Yesterday my husband and I went to a local nursery to see their festive holiday décor. They have an assortment of themed trees including this one featuring kitchen items, candy canes, and gingerbread men.
