Spellbinders | March 2022 Embossing Folder of the Month

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS mini-slimline card created with the Spellbinders March 2022 Embossing Folder Kit Club “Garden Path.”

I used die-cutting, glimmer-foiling, and dry-embossing on this card – my favorite techniques!

I applied VersaMark ink on the embossing folder before running it through my die-cutting machine. This method enhances the contrast of the raised area on the background.
I glimmer-foiled in black a sentiment from the Sentiments for Everyday set on vellum. I backed the vellum with double-sided adhesive and cut it with a die in the mini slimline B set. I added the sentiment strip to the dry-embossed panel and used the largest die in the mini slimline A set to cut it. This way I knew the sentiment strip would be straight.
I added the dry-embossed panel with the sentiment to a white, textured cardstock card base.
I die-cut the bunny and flower with dies in the Open House Spring set. You can see additional cards featuring this set here and here. I added the elements to the card base.

Valentine Featuring Spellbinders Embossing Folder

Hello! I am sharing another mini-slimline card featuring the Spellbinders February 2022 Embossing Folder Kit Club. Check out my previous post showcasing this same design here. This card is Valentine-themed.

Color white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks.
Die-cut the inked panel to a mini-slimline size using the largest die in the Precision Layering Mini Slimline A set.
Dry-emboss the panel with the February 2022 Embossing Folder Kit Club. Remove the top texture with a sanding block to reveal the pattern in white.
Using a die in the Fluted Classics Circles set, cut a circle from the panel slightly above the middle.

Create a card base sized 3.5 x 6.5 inches; create a mat for the dry-embossed panel from Onyx cardstock.
Die-cut custom the large sentiment with dies in the Simply Perfect Alphabet set from Onyx cardstock.
Glimmer-foil sentiment from the Mini Sincere Sentiments on Snowdrift cardstock in black. Trim and position behind the dry-embossed panel, giving room for the larger letters.
Glue Simply Perfect Alphabet letters above the glimmer-foiled sentiment.

Feb 2022 Spellbinders Large Die of the Month

Hello crafty friends! I’m delighted to share a friendship/encouragement card created with the Spellbinders February 2022 Large Die of the Month “Typing Class.” I have also used this month’s Embossing Folder Kit Club “Sketched Floral” for the card background. For a cheerful vibe, I selected bright colors.

I die-cut and assembled the typewriter.
I die-cut and assembled the kit’s flowers and foliage.
I die-cut the kit’s sentiment pieces and sized the note in the platen accordingly, which I cut in a paper trimmer.
I glimmer-foiled the Mini Sincere Sentiments in Matte Silver and cut it using a banner die in the same set.
I added the assembled typewriter with foam adhesive to the dry-embossed background, tucking the foliage behind the note.

Spellbinders January 2022 Clubs Blog Hop

For the hop, I created gift card holders with this month’s Large Die of the Month kit “A Pocket Full of Love.” I previously shared a card created with the same die set here.

For the gift card holders, I created the same design, varying the colors I used. This unique die set creates a pocket in which to place a note, a photo, a gift card, and more revealed by pulling up the heart.

Create A2-size card bases with the January 2022 Embossing Folder “Spreading Love.” Spellbinders launched the Embossing Folder Club on January 1, and the response has been so overwhelming this Club has sold out. This design may be brought back at a later time (check the “Past Clubs” section). Be sure to sign up for Clubs right away on the first of the month so as to not miss out on any future designs.
Create the pockets – die-cut, score on three sides – and adhere to dry-embossed backgrounds.
Die-cut solid hearts, detailed hearts, detailed pocket covers, and enclosure panel pieces. Assemble.
Glimmer foil the sentiments with the More Sentiments set in silver and cut with a die in the Mini Sincere Sentiments set.
