Merry Monday Summer Link-up – Die-cut Ornaments

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up with a CAS card using turquoise blue, green, and purple. This isn’t a color scheme I often use (perhaps one I have never used) and it took a bit to figure out what element I would make which color.

I stamped the Candy Stripe Bold Prints background cardstock (Stampin’ Up) with VersaMark for a subtle pattern after trying the coordinating Stampin’ Up ink (which was too dark). To keep things clean, I heat-embossed the Christmas Messages sentiment on the die-cut ornament.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge – Summer Link-up

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up. I looked through all of their 2017 challenges, pulled out my holiday supplies, and started creating! I figure this way I’ll know the Christmas themes for which I might be missing products when the new holiday supplies are available for purchase (I’ve already started a wishlist)! This card also provided me the opportunity to figure out which green and red cardstock combinations work best for Christmas. I am on the hunt for an evergreen cardstock – if you have a favorite, I would love to hear it!

I grabbed the Echo Park – I Love Winter Pines stencil and applied white pigment ink on a kraft background. I used the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Mini Wreath & Bow to cut Stampin’ Up cardstock (Real Red and Garden Green) for the wreath embellishment. I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages set in Stampin’ Up Soft Suede ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and cut the sentiment strip and underlying red strip with dies in the My Favorite Things STAX Fishtail Flags set.

I created a CAS, rustic-feeling holiday card on kraft cardstock, with a wreath as an embellishment!

You’re Pretty Sweet!

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” card combining a Hero Arts sentiment with a basket of strawberries created with Impression Obsession dies.

Pretty Sweet

I used my MISTI to center the sentiment on the patterned paper so that it would line up with the notebook paper lines. At first I had the carton adhered to the patterned paper without foam, but it looked “flat” so I pulled apart of carton and added foam. I positioned the strawberries several times before getting the basket to look right.

Hope your week is off to a great start! Hard to believe it’s almost June!

Supplies:

Celebrating Sunny Days

Today I’m sharing a spring/summer-themed card featuring the Hero Arts Color Layering Graphic Flowers stamp set.

Hero Arts Sunshine

I created a one-layer card (with the exception of the dry-embossed strip on the left) using the stamp set and a MISTI. I’m completely sold on the MISTI at this point. (Note: the sentiment is designed with that distress on some of the letters; I realized that after stamping it something like five times!)

A Little Birdie Told Me

Despite rain and cold here in the Pacific Northwest, the birds seem incredibly happy. This CAS spring-themed friendship card was inspired by those hearty birds!

Die-Cut Spring Friendship Card

I paired a Hero Arts sentiment (I like the typeface, the length of the sentiment in terms of placing it on an A2 card AND what it says!) with the Paper Smooches die-cut birds and branch.
