Mama Elephant CAS Easter Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Easter card showcasing one of the cute bunnies from the Mama Elephant Honey Bunny set.

Mama Elephant CAS Easter Card

I stamped the bunny and colored him (her?) with Copic markers, as well as colored pencils. To create the cloud background, I made a stencil from vellum using the cloud die in the Landscape Trio set and two of the cloud dies in the Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds set. I sponged white pigment ink  with a sponge dauber on to Memory Box cardstock (now retired). For the bottom half of the card, I stamped the Hero Arts Five Line Background (retired, but still available in a couple of stores online) in Celery ink on Memory Box cardstock (now retired).

Paint Resist Technique

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS encouragement/friendship card that uses the paint resist technique.

Paint Resist Technique

I applied Picket Fence paint to an older Hero Arts stamp – Leaf and Floral Background – and stamped the image on white cardstock. Once the paint was dry, I applied Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans inks. I then wiped away the painted areas with a slightly damp paper towel. This technique gives a subtler resist than heat-embossing the image.

I cut the panel with a die from a retired MFT Blueprints set. I stamped the sentiment, from the Simon Says Stamp You Got This set, with Mama Elephant Smoke ink.

Hero Arts – CAS Winter Trees

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card created with an older Hero Arts rubber stamp – Winter Trees. I bought the stamp five years ago and had only used it once.

Hero Arts Winter TreesI stamped the Hero Arts Winter Trees image with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink on my MISTI. (I think it would be fun to stamp in a number of different Distress Oxide ink colors.) I heat-embossed the Hero Arts Christmas Messages sentiment (my most used this season) with silver embossing powder.

Merry Monday #270 – Christmas Tic-Tac-Toe

Hello. Today, I am sharing a card created for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #270 – Tic-Tac-Toe.

Merry Monday #270 - Christmas Tic-Tac-ToeI used the first column – stamping, die cut and red on my CAS holiday/winter card. I am transitioning from Christmas-specific cards to winter cards (still snow, snow people and the like!).

I cut the MFT Cocoa Cup from TE Cherry Pop cardstock and added a snowflake, from the Lawn Cuts Mini Snowflakes set, and a peppermint stick, from the  CottageCutz Peppermint Latte set. I heat-embossed the Hero Arts sentiment on Stampin’ Up  Marina Mist strip. The background panel was dry-embossed with a Stampin’ Up  folder.

Merry Monday Christmas Color Challenge – Blue, Green, Silver and White

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS card featuring the Memory Box Deco Trees die created for Merry Monday Challenge #267.

At first I was going to pass on the challenge because all I could think of was a card with glass ornaments in the challenge colors of green, blue, and white/silver/vellum (and was getting nowhere). I finally freed myself of that specific idea!

Merry Monday #267

I die-cut a cardstock panel with the Deco Trees die and heat-embossed a Hero Arts sentiment from the “Spread Joy” set (now retired) on the panel. I colored cardstock with three Distress Oxide inks – Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover and Salty Ocean. I trimmed the colored cardstock to fit behind the openings of the three trees.
