I combined the Large Die of the Month set with this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club “Hex Tile Stamps.” To celebrate a new month, I chose a color palette of yellow and shades of orange.

  • I created a card base from Onyx cardstock.
  • I cut a frame from Snowdrift cardstock using the two large dies in the set. I used one of the kaleidoscope hex shapes to cut out the center hex (to frame the sentiment).
  • I heat-embossed the Clear Stamp of the Month Club sentiment in white on to dark orange cardstock and trimmed the piece to fit behind the center open hex.
  • I backed the open frame with dark orange cardstock. I used the detail frame to cut yellow cardstock and inlaid those tiles into the frame.
  • To create the kaleidoscopes, I die-cut the top from Snowdrift cardstock, the next layer from light orange cardstock, and the bottom layer from the same dark orange cardstock. I fussy-cut hex shapes from Onyx cardstock and glued the kaleidoscopes.
  • Once the frame was added to a mat and the card base, I embellished with small blooms cut with a die in the Special Delivery set.

Hello crafty friends! Here in the Pacific Northwest we are having warm, summer-like weather (highly unusual and it will be back to cooler temps tomorrow!). Today, I’m sharing a colorful A2-sized card created with the Spellbinders June 2021 Large Die of the Month “Color Block Circles & Stripes” and Clear Stamp of the Month Club “Circle of Sunshine.” I shared two slimline cards with these products in this post.

Hello crafty friends! Happy June (this year is zipping by)! I’m delighted to share two slimline projects created with the Spellbinders June 2021 Large Die of the Month “Color Block Circles & Stripes” and Clear Stamp of the Month Club “Circle of Sunshine.”

Spellbinders June 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month

For the first project, I created a colorful, geometric-art card with the die and stamp sets.

  • I used the long strips die in the Large Die of the Month set to cut strips in colorful colors from all three widths – 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch. The strips are 8 1/2 inches long.
  • I arranged the strips at a 45-degree angle on a slimline card base.
  • I cut the circle pieces from the same four colors as the strips and from Snowdrift. I cut the curves from Snowdrift cardstock.
  • I heat-embossed the Clear Stamp of the Month Club sentiment in red.

For the second project, I created a sunshine-themed card.

  • I used the Large Die of the Month strips die in the set to cut 1/4 inch strips from cardstock to which I had applied Distress Oxide inks ranging from dark orange to yellow.
  • I stamped the Clear Stamp of the Month Club sentiment on to cardstock to which I had applied Distress Oxide ink and cut it with the circle in the set. I backed it with a 2-inch circle cut from vellum.
  • For the background, I applied Distress Oxide ink through the Sun Burst Stencil. I then applied Moonstone Glimmer Paste.
  • Once dry, I added the five horizontal strips and the sentiment circles to the stenciled background.

Spellbinders May 2021 Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop sharing projects created with the Spellbinders May 2021 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Dilay Nacar. (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created a birthday card using this month’s Large Die of the Month kit “Stitched Card Front, Border & Flower” and this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club “Borders & Sentiments.” I shared other cards created with the kits here and here.

To create the card, I die-cut the Large Die of the Month border from Snowdrift cardstock six times and stitched the borders with floss in the following colors: pink (DMC 603), red (DMC 349), orange (DMC 741), yellow (DMC 726), blue (DMC 322), and purple (DMC 208).

I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Club set. I attached the sentiment to the back of the frame I created from Brushed Silver and Snowdrift cardstock in which I cut openings with the largest die in the Essential Rectangles set and the A2-size die in the Large Die of the Month set. The card is larger than A2-size.

The stitched flowers were adhered to a Waterfall cardstock panel. The frame was added to the front with foam adhesive.
