Spellbinders March 2021 Large Die Kit Club

Hello Peeps! Happy March! I’m delighted to share two projects created with the Spellbinders March 2021 Large Die of the Month“Spring Together with Lever Pull.” With this 24-piece set, you can create a variety of interactive spring- and Easter-themed cards.

On both cards, my starting point was the background paper. Next, I die-cut and assembled the peeps from textured and smooth cardstock in colors that would stand out against the background colors.

The 4  1/4″ card use dies in the set to make two of the peeps interactive.

After die-cutting and assembling the bunnies, and the mechanism for movement, I foiled a sentiment from the Mini Everyday Sentiments set in Silver on green cardstock and cut it with the grass die. I attached the grass at the bottom of the card, below the pull.

To embellish, I added a flower cut with dies in the  Large Die of the Month.

The A2-size card uses dies in the set to make three peeps interactive.

After cutting and assembling the bunny, lamp, and chick, and the mechanism for movement, I die-cut the sentiment from the  Large Die of the Month set (twice for dimension) and glued it to the grass layer. The bottom of the grass die does not cut, making it possible to make the grass as short or tall as desired.

I added clouds, included in the set, to the card base.

Of course, you don’t have to use the set to make interactive cards and can instead simply use the critters, sentiments, clouds, and flower to create a spring- or Easter-themed card! Be sure to visit the product page to see more inspiration.

My first card is a 28th birthday card on which I die-cut the numbers from strips of orange, teal, and blue cardstock.

  • I used a die in the Holiday Sentiments Series 2 set to cut the strips of colored cardstock. I taped the pieces together on the back and die-cut the numbers.
  • I paired the numbers with the die-cut “Happy” from the Large Die of the Month set and a glimmer-foiled sentiment from the More Sentiments set.
  • I added the elements to a background dry-embossed with the Stargazer folder.
  • For embellishment, I added balloons cut with a die in the Sunday Drive set.

The Large Die of the Month set works for a number of occasions, including graduation! I created a grad card customized with school colors of navy and gold.

  • I added the numbers die-cut from navy cardstock to a Brush Gold background dry-embossed with the Stargazer folder.
  • I die-cut the “Congrats” twice (for extra depth) using a die in the Mix & Match Sentiments set.

Happy February! I’m delighted to share two projects created with the Spellbinders February 2021 Large Die of the Month – “Birthday Wishes for Everyone.” With the 14-piece set, you can create cards for a variety of number/date-based occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. I created birthday cards for children with the set.

On the first card, I highlighted the birthday year by placing it on a die-cut circle.

  • I added the “happy” sentiment, cut from black cardstock, to the patterned card base in a circular fashion.
  • I added the glimmer-foiled “birthday wishes” across the bottom of the circle.

The second card is created for child turning six who is excited to count to their birthday age (remember those days?!!).

Spellbinders February 2021 Large Die Kit Club

  • I cut the numbers from different colors and added them to the A2 patterned paper card base.
  • I cut the “happy” sentiment from white cardstock (same as the “6th”).
  • I used the negative of the “happy” sentiment when I adhered it to the card.

For the hop, I created two CAS Valentine’s Day cards using this month’s Large Die of the Month kit “Slimline Kaleidoscope Hearts.” I shared two other cards created with the kit in this post.

My first card is a slimline Valentine’s Day card with an ombré inlaid background.

Spellbinders January 2021 Clubs Blog Hop

  • I cut the Large Die of the Month frame from Whip Cream cardstock and backed it with Pool Play cardstock.
  • I used the frame die to cut the smaller hearts from pink and three shades of red and inlaid them into the frame.
  • I cut two kaleidoscope hearts from white cardstock and two shades of red, backing the assembly with a solid heart cut from dark red.
  • I glimmer-foiled the Heart Melt sentiment in silver on red cardstock and cut it with the Forever Love Hearts set.
  • I adhered the sentiment heart and kaleidoscope hearts to the frame.

To showcase the versatility of the die set, I created a 4 1/4″ square card in which the background is created in the same manner as above.

  • I die-cut the frame from white, linen-textured cardstock by cutting a 3 1/4″ square from the center of a 4 1/4″ square.
  • I created the background in the manner as described for my first card.
  • I cut the ring and sentiment from white, gold, and glitter cardstock using the Special Celebrations die set. (This post shares other ways to use the Special Celebrations set.)

Spellbinders January 2021 Large Die Kit Club

Happy 2021! I’m delighted to be sharing two projects created with the January 2021 Large Die of the Month – “Slimline Kaleidoscope
Hearts” – at Spellbinders.

My first project is a slimline Valentine’s Day card.

Spellbinders January 2021 Large Die Kit Club

  • I cut the Large Die of the Month frame from Whip Cream cardstock.
  • I used the frame to cut the smaller hearts from red paper and inlaid them into the frame. I backed the frame with Brush Gold cardstock.
  • I cut two kaleidoscope hearts from white cardstock and two shades of red, backing the assembly with a solid heart cut from dark red.
  • I heat-embossed the Sending My Love sentiment in white on red and cut it with the frame die. (The solid heart of the kaleidoscope is slightly smaller than the large heart of the frame.)
  • I adhered the sentiment heart and kaleidoscope hearts to the frame.

To illustrate the set’s versatility, I created a gift tag with the kaleidoscope heart for a Valentine’s Day treat.

  • I used the Large Die of the Month to cut the tag from Brush Gold cardstock. The left-hand side is not cut through completely, which creates a hinge.
  • I stamped the Sending My Love sentiment in gold on Whip Cream cardstock and cut it with the solid heart die, adhering it to the inside of the tag.
