Simon Says Stamp Holiday Release

Hello! Today I’m delighted to be sharing four CAS holiday cards created with the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Greetings stamp set as part of their Holiday release!

Let’s start with a card on which I combined several of the Stained Glass Greetings sentiments with a panel created with the Tim Holtz Mini Plaid stencil.

I heat-embossed “Christmas” and “Joy” and added them to the panel on which I had stenciled the plaid twice with Distress Oxide Black Soot ink.

For my second card, I heat-embossed the “Peace” sentiment with gold powder and stamped the smaller sentiment in Pine Needles ink. I die-cut the Memory Box Deco Trees from the stamped panel and backed the opening with dark green cardstock. I adhered the panel to a Schoolhouse Red cardstock base.

In a similar manner to the plaid card, I combined the “Christmas” and “Joy” sentiments with a panel created with the Tim Holtz Pines stencil and Distress Oxide Lucky Clover ink.

For my final card, I heat-embossed the set’s “Merry” sentiment with Red Geranium embossed powder on white cardstock, which I cut with the Memory Box Horse Sleigh Landscape die. The background was dry-embossed with the Tim Holtz Simple Snowflakes folder.

Here Comes Santa Paws

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Happy Howlidays stamp set, which was a Simon Says Stamp set for their Stamptember event. I paired the Copic-colored dogs with two Lawn Fawn die sets.

I cut the Little Town Border from white cardstock and backed the openings with yellow cardstock. I cut the Stitched Mountain Borders from the Earl Grey cardstock. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil to create the snowflakes. It took me a few minutes to gather my embossing paste and related supplies, but I’m glad I did, as the background needed some texture (and I plan to do more stenciling this season).

Using Repetition – Nautical CAS Card

After creating this nautical-themed card, I had many lighthouses left over, as I had experimented with different construction techniques, as well as color combinations, when creating the lighthouses. So I put together a CAS card with the leftovers practicing the design principle of repetition!

Holiday Cheer: Cutting Down the Christmas Tree

I’m back with another take on the Impression Obsession truck – this time on a holiday-themed card. For my scene, I’ve imagined a family gathering their Christmas trees in a snowy forest.

I used white embossing paste on a Simon Says Stamp stencil to create the softly falling snow. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set from a few years ago. I like the informal font for this style of card.

The Online Card Classes Copic Markers class starts tomorrow – looking forward to several weeks of coloring!

Simon Says Stamp – STAMPtember!

Wow, it’s September! What a fabulous time of year – lots of beginnings are always in store in September! Today, I’m sharing a card created with the Simon Says Stamp Presents and Ornaments stamp set, released as part of the Stamptember event.

For my card, I stamped the Presents and Ornaments packages and bows. I pulled out my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the packages aligned! I tried the design in a number of different package and bow color combinations, ultimately deciding on a somewhat traditional color combination of red, green and gold.
