Art Impressions | Fourth of July Front Porch Delight

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card on which I have used the newest Art Impressions Front Porch stamp and die set – Patriotic. As I shared in this post, there is an entire Art Impressions Front Porch Series. This card showcases a charming front porch decorated for the Fourth of July with a sleeping dog in a chair, fluttering flag bunting, and a container of fireworks ready to light up the night sky. Read on for step-by-step instructions on how to create the card.

Stamp Front Porch and Front Porch Patriotic images with VersaFine ink on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper; heat set.

Color images with watercolor markers (Tombow and Zig) using the watercolor palette, No. 4, and No. 1 brushes. Once dry, cut with coordinating dies. Note: the Front Porch door die cuts the window panes. I chose to fussy-cut the door, as I had watercolored the window panes. For the flag, bunting, and doormat, I used the Tombow Navy marker (brush tip) directly on the watercolor paper.

Create a panel, measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches, of dry-embossed Chamomile cardstock background (I used an older Stampin’ Up folder) and add a 1 1/4 inch strip of dark gray to the bottom to represent the ground. Add assembly to a card background of white Bazzill canvas cardstock (which has been added to an A2-size card base). Add elements to card with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders | April 2023 Large Die of the Month

Hello and happy April! Today, I am sharing a “Hello” card created with the Spellbinders April 2023 Large Die of the Month “Punch and Pierce Frame and Sentiments” set. Check out more inspiration on this set here.

Create A2-size card base from Waterfall cardstock.
Create frame by cutting with the inner, outer, and detailed “Punch and Pierce Frame and Sentiments” dies from Snowdrift cardstock. Cut backing from soft yellow cardstock with the “Punch and Pierce Frame and Sentiments” inner and outer dies. Glue pieces together. Create back using the outer die to cut coral cardstock.
Dry-emboss back with the Stargazer embossing folder. Add frame to dry-embossed back and add assembly to card base.
Use “Punch and Pierce Frame and Sentiments” dies to cut sentiments from Snowdrift, Teal Topaz, and vellum. Adhere cardstock sentiment to vellum backer. (I die-cut the front sentiment pieces twice for additional thickness.) Add sentiments to card.
Embellish with birds cut using dies in the Sweet Birds on a Branch set. Add to card with foam adhesive.

Hello! Today I am sharing a friendship-themed card showcasing the Layered Windmill die set, part of the Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken at Spellbinders. I have shared projects created with the collection here and here.

Dry-emboss Chamomile cardstock with the Orange Peel Quilt folder. Cut with the Layered Windmill outline piece.
Cut Snowdrift cardstock with the Layered Windmill frame and outline pieces. Save the center square and four small triangles. Back with dry-embossed piece.
With the Layered Windmill frame, cut Raindrop, navy, and medium blue cardstock. Adhere die-cut pieces, including the reserved Snowdrift ones, into frame.
Add assembly to textured, white cardstock base measuring 5 1/2 inches square.
Stamp sentiment in navy ink with stamp in the Quilty Hugs Sentiments set. Cut with banner die and add to card center with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders | January 2023 Large Die of the Month

Hello! Today, I am sharing a friendship card created with the Spellbinders January 2023 Large Die of the Month “Club Blooms” that includes 23 cutting dies.

Dry-emboss 5 inch by 7 inch dark red cardstock with Fan Motif embossing folder. This was a club kit offering for November 2022 and is now available for individual sale. Add dry-embossed background to card base.
Add sentiment included in the Quick & Easy Card Kit.
Cut Snowdrift, Brushed Gold, and Onyx cardstock with dies in the Large Die of the Month set; assemble.
Attach floral items to card background using foam adhesive on some elements for additional depth.
Embellish with Crystal Mix Gems.

Hello! Today, I am sharing a Christmas card created with the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar Day 24 surprise – a pickup truck with presents. Today is the final window on the calendar. Dry emboss Snowdrift cardstock with Flurry of Snowflakes 3D folder, trim, and add to card base.
Apply stencil paste through the Layered Christmas Tree stencil on Cosmic Sky cardstock, sprinkle on Sparkle Dust Glitter, and set aside to dry. Once dry, cut with arch in the Essential Arches set.
Glimmer foil Glitter Wishes sentiment on Snowdrift in Gold. Cut panel with arch in the Essential Arches set and Color Block Scenic Scape die. Add snowbank to stenciled sky and attach to card base.
Cut truck and presents, assemble, and add to scene.
Embellish with snowflakes. I grabbed some off my worktable!
