My first project works for a variety of occasions.

Taylored Expressions April 2017 Release

I heat-embossed the sentiment from A Life She Loved on Oreo cardstock and colored it with colored pencils. I cut the Little Bits – Colored Pencils, the Little Bits – Paint Palette and the Little Bits – Paint Brushes from colored cardstock and assembled the pieces. The card base is dry-embossed with the Ah-maze-ing embossing folder for texture.

Got a special occasion coming up – anniversary, birthday, graduation? The Initially series now includes numbers! I used the dies to create a colorful 45th birthday banner.

The numbers were cut with the Initially 4 and Initially 5 dies. I created the frames with the largest die in the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate set and the background was dry-embossed with the Quatrefoil embossing folder. I created the flower embellishments by combining die-cuts created with the Bloomers 5Bloomers 6Mini Bloomers 2Mini Bloomers and Bloomers Greenery sets.

Mother’s Day Cards – TE April 2017 Release Sneak Peeks Day Two

Hello! Welcome to Day Two of the Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks. I’m sharing two Mother’s Day cards today. Products from this release will be in the store on Thursday, April 6 @ 7 AM PST!

My first project is a Mother’s Day card featuring the Simply Stamped Butterflies set.

I stamped the butterflies with a combination of TE pink inks: CupcakeStrawberry Milkshake and Lollipop. I used the set’s coordinating dies to cut out the stamped butterflies, as well as their antennae.

To create the background, I cut a rectangular panel with the Block Party – Mom die on to which I stamped the sentiment. To highlight the lettering I added a panel dry-embossed with the Quatrefoil folder underneath.

I thought it would be fun to go in a less traditional direction for my second Mother’s Day card in which I imagined the beach, the surf, flip flops, ….!

Taylored Expressions April 2017 Release

For this card, I cut Block Party – Mom from a cardstock strip which had been cut with one of the dies in the Build a Scene – Rolling Waves set. Behind that I added a beachy scene cut with the Eventful – Pool Party die. And I couldn’t resist adding those Little Bits – Flip Flops!

Whale Hello – Product Mash Up

Today, I’m sharing a CAS friendship card featuring a combination of products! Here in the Pacific Northwest we’re saying “Hello” to the whales returning to the area (we take whales very seriously in these parts!).

Whale Hello

I stamped the background with one of the stamps in the Wonky Backdrops set with several inks in my collection (I didn’t mind if the colors were mixed a bit). I colored the stamped whales from the Avery Elle Whale Hello set with both Copic markers and colored pencils and cut them with their coordinating die set. I used the largest die in the Lawn Cuts Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables set to cut out the background. The HELLO is a wooden stamp in my collection which I used for a heat-embossed sentiment cut with the smallest banner in the Lawn Cuts Extra Sentiment Banners set.

Taylored Expressions Quilt-Inspired Friendship Card

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a quilt-inspired friendship card created with Taylored Expressions supplies. I don’t quilt, but I do own fabric and quilt pattern books (maybe one day!). I also have quilts created by my grandmothers and an aunt which I use on a daily basis.

Taylored Expressions Quilt Inspired

I used the Quilted Cutting Plate to create the background. I cut from Sugar Cube cardstock first and then laid in the pieces cut from the patterned paper and the solid colors. The pieces were taped into the frame from the back. I added a sentiment from the A Thousand Stitches set and embellishments created with Little Bits – Needle & Thread and Little Bits – Buttons.

Penny Black Simplicity: Die-Cut Blooms

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS card featuring Penny Black products from the BLISS 2017 release.

Penny Black Simplicity Floral

The 51-330 Beautiful Blossom set includes dies for the overlay and the blossom underneath, making it easy to create the blossoms! I colored white cardstock with Distress Inks – Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Ripe Persimmon – for the blossoms. I cut the overlays from white cardstock. I assembled the flowers only at their center part so that I could add dimension by pulling the overlay up away from the blossom underneath. I cut the greenery with the 51-308 Bold Branch die from white cardstock which had been colored with Mowed Lawn and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks. Using a Clarity brush, I added Tumbled Glass to the card background before stamping a sentiment from the 30-418 Stitched Flowers stamp set.
