Bring on the Happy

Today I’m sharing a card crafted with Penny Black supplies from the latest Bring on the Happy release.

FloralHello

To begin, I applied a combination of Distress Inks to the 40-389 Bramble stamp and stamped onto white cardstock. I then cut out the hello sentiment with the 51-104 Hello word die from the stamped panel, carefully preserving the tiny pieces from the insides of the letters. I flipped the panel over and taped the cut to hold in those pieces while I removed the hello. I cut the hello several more times out of white cardstock and gold foil, adhering them together and then adhering the sentiment into the stamped card panel. In the long run, I probably could have more simply adhered the hello die cut onto the stamped panel without cutting it out of the panel, but I wanted to explore that other approach first. (Besides I tend to try the most complicated solutions sometimes!)

I cut the butterflies with the 51-132 Flights of Fancy set out of white cardstock and gold foil, adhering them for depth.

Retrosketches #154 and ColourQ #281

Today, I’m sharing a card crafted with Reverse Confetti stamps and Confetti Cuts combining the sketch from Retrosketches #154 and the color combination from ColourQ #281.

I stamped the sentiment from Arrows ‘n Elements and cut it with the banner in Tag Me. The orange banner was cut with the small tag in Tag Me. I stamped the flowers from Love Blooms, masking after stamping the flower in the bottom left corner.

Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms by Julie Ebersole

Today, I’m sharing a card created with the Bold Blooms stamp set and coordinating die cut sets from the Essentials by Ellen Winter 2015 release.

I used the stand-alone die set to cut the top part of the flowers and the coordinating set for the underneath part. The leaves were created in a similar manner. I see myself using these flowers for a variety of projects in the upcoming months!

Happy Birthday ColourQ #280

Today I’m sharing a CAS birthday card created with Reverse Confetti products using the colors from ColourQ #280.

Looking at the colors in the challenge, I knew I’d want to heat emboss the sentiment in gold and use the paler purple for the card base. I cut several strands of the Circle Garland in the deeper, richer colors. I like the abstract aspect of the garland – like lights in a distance. This color palette has a celebratory feel to me!
