Crafting Warmth | Impression Obsession Plaid Thermos

Hello! As I mentioned HERE, I am looking to extend the use of my winter-themed supplies beyond the holidays. Today, I am sharing a card that features a charming plaid vintage thermos and cup, cut with the Impression Obsession Thermos die set. Send your “Warmest Wishes” with this versatile winter-themed card that transcends holiday cheer, celebrating the timeless beauty of coziness and connection.

To create the background, I cut white cardstock with the Reverse Confetti Plaid Lines – Small and Plaid Lines – Big cover plate dies. I rediscovered these two dies after writing a post on cover plate dies, which you can read HERE. I added the two die-cut pieces to a card base covered with Fun Stampers Journey Cranberry Bliss cardstock.
I cut the Thermos from plaid patterned paper and black chalkboard cardstock. I trimmed the Thermos body off a bit and adhered a black mug to its top. For the other mug, I trimmed off the round top.
I stamped the Pretty Pink Posh Sentiment Strips Christmas sentiment on to patterned paper (I do not know whose). I trimmed the panel and added a frame cut with the Revere Confetti Stitched Notes & Frames die set. I added the assembly to the card base.
I added the Thermos and mug to the card with foam adhesive and embellished with snowflakes cut from white glitter foam with the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes die set.

Newton’s Nook Designs | Fall Harvest Take Two

Hello! Today I am sharing two more cards created with the Newton’s Nook Designs Fall Harvest stamp set. I previously shared cards with this stamp and coordinating die set HERE. This time, I am using stenciled pumpkin backgrounds rather than patterned paper ones, applying ink through a stencil on to coordinating cardstock for a tone-on-tone background. To create the focal images, stamp the Fall Harvest images with Versafine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper and heat set. Color the images with watercoloring mediums of choice. Once dry, cut the images with the dies in the coordinating set. (Check out my “Resources for Watercoloring Stamped Images” HERE.)
To create the card backgrounds, apply ink through the Pumpkin Patch stencil. For the background with the dog, I used Dried Marigold ink on SU Pumpkin cardstock, and on the other background with the cat, I used Wild Honey ink on SU More Mustard cardstock. Trim panels to A2-size and attach to card bases. (Next time, I will cut the cardstock to A2 size before applying ink through the stencil. The stencil pattern is 5 1/2″ square.)
Glimmer foil the sentiment in the Autumn Greetings set with Copper foil on white cardstock (I used Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube, as it is not stark white). Cut panel with a 2 3/4″ die in the Everlasting Circles set. Cut another circle from vellum with a 3″ die in the same set.
Assemble the focal images, add the images to the circle mats, and adhere to the card fronts.

Newton’s Nook Designs | Fall Harvest

Hello! As the leaves turn golden and the air cools, I find myself embracing the charm of the fall season. Today, I am showcasing the Newton’s Nook Designs Fall Harvest stamp set on two friendship cards of the same design.

To create the focal images, stamp the Fall Harvest images with Versafine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper and heat set. Color the image with watercoloring medium of choice. Once dry, cut the images with the dies in the coordinating set. (Check out my “Resources for Watercoloring Stamped Images” HERE.)

To create the card backgrounds, cut PhotoPlay Fall Plaids papers (now discontinued) and add to A2-size card bases.

Glimmer foil the sentiment in the Autumn Greetings set with Copper foil on white cardstock (I used Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube, as it is not stark white). Cut panel with die in the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables set and attach to card base.

Assemble the focal images and add to the cards with dot and foam adhesive.

Sending Hedgehugs with Penny Black

Spring has sprung on this sweet watercolored card that shows two hedgehogs watering a daisy. Featuring the Penny Black Grown with Love stamp set, this card is suitable for sending a message of love, friendship, or just a simple hello! But there’s a twist – instead of using the flower in the original Penny Black Grown with Love stamp, I masked it and added a die-cut daisy. Read on for step-by-step instructions on how I created the card.

- Stamp hedgehog image on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper with VersaFine ink, masking the flower image so that it does not stamp; heat set.
- Watercolor image. I used Zig markers in Medium Beige, Oatmeal, and Light Pink for the hedgehog faces and bodies. I used Zig Gray Brown for the hedgehog needles. For the watering can and metal portion of the spade, I used Zig Gray. I used Tombow Poppy Red for the spade handle and Zig Light Blue for the pond.
- Stamp hedgehogs on Gina K Masking Magic. Fussy-cut hedgehogs and pond and cover watercolored portions with the masks. Apply Tumbled Glass Oxide ink for the sky and Mowed Lawn Oxide and Rustic Wilderness Oxide for the grass.
- Stamp Grown with Love sentiment on to white cardstock and cut with large cloud die in the Silver Linings set. Cut two small clouds with the same set.
- Use the Daisy Delight die to cut the daisy from white cardstock. Color with Copic markers. I used Pale Yellow and Cadmium Yellow for the flower center and Moss Green for the stem.
- Trim stamped panel to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and add to yellow card base. Add clouds and daisy to scene.
