Spellbinders | Set Sail Die-Cut Card

Hello! There’s nothing quite like the calming rhythm of waves and a sailboat on the open water–and that’s the feeling I aimed to capture with this nautical handmade card. Using products from Spellbinders, I created an scene framed by a Polaroid-style die cut. The sentiment “Relax and enjoy!” adds to the vibe, while the rope-textured dry embossed card base reinforces the theme. It’s a card that invites the recipient to take a breath and imagine the salty breeze.

- Dry-emboss an A2-size cardstock panel with the Cast Away folder and add to a card base.
- Cut the sailboat with this month’s Caboodle offering–the “Set Sail” die set. Assemble.
- Cut the waves, three times, with dies in the Large Die set. Assemble. Find more Large Die inspiration HERE.
- Cut a frame with the Memory Frames die.
- Stamp the Fair Winds sentiment on to a cardstock panel and trim to fit behind the frame.
- Adhere the frame, waves, and sailboat together and add assembly to the sentiment panel. Trim waves before adding to the sentiment panel.
- Add assembly to the prepared card base.

Hello! Today I’m sharing a handmade card with a message of encouragement. Using the Spellbinders “Sailor’s Light” die set – the June 2025 Large Die of the Month club offering – I created a scene with a lighthouse casting its beam across the ocean. - Cover an A2-size card base with patterned paper.
- Cut Large Die of the Month pieces from a variety of cardstock colors. Assemble.
- Add assembled elements to the prepared card base.
- Stamp the Fair Winds sentiment and cut with the coordinating die. Add to card.

Spellbinders | Whimsical Nautical Card

Hello! If you’re craving a bit of whimsy and salt air, today’s card delivers both with a playful nautical scene. Created with the Spellbinders “Shipmates” die set – the June 2025 Small Die of the Month offering – the card stars a walrus and a seagull in a charming, storybook-like style. Die-cut Nautical “AHOY” Card

Hello! At the beginning of the month, I shared a round-up of summer-themed cards. Inspired by the post, I created a nautical-themed card that features a charming Impression Obsession sailboat. The cheerful “AHOY” is a perfect choice for sending warm wishes to any sea lover in your life and works for a multitude of occasions.

- I used Echo Park patterned paper in my stash for the card base background. I discuss how patterned paper is a quick and convenient way to add character to card backgrounds HERE.
- While designing the card, I thought back on the impact of a frame, which I discuss HERE. I chose the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Again die set to cut the Polaroid-style frame.
- To create the background behind the frame, I used the now-retired, Taylored Expressions “On the Spot” embossing folder. I wrote about the use of embossing folders in cardmaking HERE.
- I cut the sailboat, waves, and cloud from a variety of color cardstocks, and assembled as required. I used the Art Impressions Journal Letter die set to cut the letters that I glue to the frame.

Lawn Fawn | Seaside Escape

Hello! I am delighted to share a seaside-themed card featuring the recently released Lawn Fawn Build-A-House – Beach Add-On die set. Picture a charming Robin’s Egg Blue beach house, adorned with pristine white trim and delicate coral accents. The card reflects the charm of the coastal lifestyle.

With the Build-A-House and Build-A-House – Beach Add-On sets, I cut the house pieces. Although I had envisioned a tropical setting, the colors of the assembled house suggested something more subtle. You can see a tropical beach house scene HERE.
Next, I stamped the Car Critters Road Trip Add-On sentiment “Adventure Awaits” on Kraft cardstock, cutting the stamped panel with a die in the Stitched Hillside Borders set. I cut additional dunes using a different die in the same set and a die in the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders set. I cut the wave from darker teal cardstock using a die in the Ocean Wave Borders set.
To embellish, using the Scalloped Treat Box Beach House Add-On set, I cut the seagull from white and light gray cardstock. I colored the beak and legs with a Copic marker (Y38). With the Simple Puffy Cloud Frames I cut two clouds to embellish the scene.
