Newton’s Book Club – Colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brushes

Hello! Today, I am sharing a “just because” CAS card created with the Newton’s Nook Newton’s Book Club stamp set. You can see the other two cards I created with the same stamp set here (Copic-colored cat) and here (watercolored cat).

I stamped the cat with Intense Black ink on Mixed Media paper and colored him (her?) with a combination of Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens (list below). It is easy to blend the colors on this paper, and I did so with almost no water. For the background, and the accent strip, I used patterned paper from a Echo Park pad (from several seasons ago) that complemented the reading/book theme.

Newton’s Nook Book Club – A Watercolored Version

Hello. Today, I am sharing a CAS card created with the Newton’s Nook Newton’s Book Club stamp set.

Newton’s Nook Book Club - A Watercolored Version

A few weeks ago, I shared a card using a different image from the same stamp set (the set contains three cute cat images); on that version, I colored the cat image with Copic markers. For this version, I stamped the cat image on Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper with VersaFine ink and watercolored the image with Distress Inks and Distress Ink Markers. I used patterned papers from my stash to add visual variety to the card base.

Newton’s Nook Cup of Cocoa

Hello! Today, I am sharing a winter-themed card created with the Newton’s Nook Cup of Cocoa stamp set. I just could not resist this set and plan to use it again this upcoming fall and winter.

I stamped several of the hot beverage options and colored the images with Copic markers and colored pencils.

For the background, I stamped the sentiment and applied Tumbled Glass and Hickory Smoke inks to the background with a Clarity Brush. The card base was dry-embossed with a Taylored Expressions embossing folder.
