Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 128 – Christmas in July

Hello! Today, I am sharing a Christmas card that I created for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 128 – Christmas in July. I enjoy house scenes and often create them. I particularly like the pairing of the large house with the small village border.

  • Create blue A2-size card base.
  • Stamp Simply Winter Sentiments sentiment on white cardstock and cut with the Little Town Border. Back house windows with yellow cardstock. Add to card base.
  • Cut house pieces with the Build-A-House and Christmas Add-On die sets. Add glitter glue to light pieces. Assemble when dry and add the decorated house to the card.
  • Embellish with snowflakes cut with dies in the Mini Snowflakes set.

Rubbernecker Die-cut Snowmen Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a winter-themed, friendship card featuring Rubbernecker die-cut snowmen. Just because the holidays are over, it doesn’t mean that winter-themed craft dies and stamps have to be stored away with the decorations. Use them to brighten up someone’s day! Of course, you can use these same supplies to create a Christmas card with a red-and-green color scheme.

Rubbernecker Die-cut Snowmen Card

  • Create card background from patterned paper cut with the largest die in the Mini Slimline Nested with Stitch set, measuring 6 by 3 ½ inches.
  • Create a 6 by 3 inches rectangle from colored paper or cardstock. Cut with the Circles Stitch die in the center, using washi tape to secure the die to the paper. Trim ¼ inch from both sides (the larger original size provides more wiggle room).
  • Die-cut snowmen from various colors of paper and cardstock with the Winter Snowmen set and assemble.

  • •With white powder, heat-emboss the Snowmen with Presents sentiment on dark blue paper. Trim heat-embossed panel to a size slightly larger than the die-cut circles.
  • From the back of the paper rectangle with the die-cut circles, attach the sentiment to show in the center circle.
  • Create a 6 inch by 2 ½ inches strip from pink paper and attach to the back of the die-cut circle strip.
  • To highlight the circle frame, attach white cardstock strip measuring 6 by 2 3/4 inches to the back of the die-cut circle assembly. Adhere to card background ¼ inch from the left edge. The asymmetry creates visual interest.
  • Position the die-cut Winter Snowmen in the top and bottom circles and adhere. (Photo below shows the die-cut pieces before final assembly.)

Penny Black Winter Wishes

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card created with Penny Black supplies. Although, I used Christmas colors, the design could be created in non-Christmas colors for a winter friendship card.  This design is similar to a card I made at the same time last year. What’s different with this version? Most notably, it’s A2-sized, and I used the 30-881 When Snow Falls sentiment and a die in the 51-717 Border Collection. By using the Border Collection edge, I eliminated the need to frame the card.

  • I heat-embossed the 30-881 When Snow Falls sentiment in Red Geranium on off-white cardstock and trimmed the panel.
  • I cut the 51-667 Winter Greens from green cardstock.
  • I cut the strip from the same green cardstock (to finish off the left-side edge of the 51-667 Winter Greens) using one of the 51-717 Border Collection dies.
  • I cut the birds from red cardstock with dies in the 51-657 Wildwood set.
  • I glued the Winter Greens/Border Collection assembly to the sentiment panel and added the birds with foam adhesive.
  • I added Stickles to the berries.

Penny Black Winter View

Hello! Today I am sharing a winter-themed card created with Penny Black supplies. I previously shared a card with the 51-724 Viewpoint die set here.

Penny Black Winter View

  • I die-cut the set 51-724 Viewpoint from white and dark gray cardstock, taping the dark gray pieces to the back of the white window frame.
  • I stamped the 40-764 All Things Evergreen trees in Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness oxide inks on a white cardstock panel.
  • On the panel with the stamped trees, I applied Texture Paste through the Large Falling Snow Slimline stencil and added Rock Candy glitter. I set the glittered trees aside to dry.
  • I die-cut the 51-717 Border Collection border for a snowdrift and trimmed it to fit beneath the trees.
  • I heat-embossed the 30-257 Joy Filled sentiment in Red Geranium and cut it with a banner die.
  • Once the paste was dry, I assembled the card, adding it to a red cardstock base. I embellished with snowflakes cut with the 51-708 Dancing Snowflakes set from Sugar Coated cardstock.
