Penny Black | Thank You Bouquet

Hello! Today I am sharing a card created combining Penny Black supplies – dies, background stamp, and clear stamp set. I previously created similar cards that can you see here and here.

I primarily used Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock on this card. The specific colors are listed below. I have found starlitstudio.net to be a great resource for Bazzill Card Shoppe.

Stamp Enlightened background on Citrus Slice card base with Memento Cantaloupe ink for a tone-on-tone look.
Cut Creative Curves from Robin’s Egg cardstock; back with Jawbreaker panel.
Cut Daisy Delight from white and Caramel Apple cardstock. Trim off blooms and add to stems. Color centers of flowers with Copic markers Y 32 and Y 38.
Cut Penny Black Mason Jar (available on the Penny Black website) from Sea Glass cardstock. Cut a slit in the jar for the stems; color with Distress Oxide ink for dimension. Slip assembled flowers through the slit and tape on back. Tie natural twine around the top.
Stamp Flower Teddy sentiment on white cardstock in black ink. Trim with banner die.
Add Creative Curves assembly to card base. Add assembled jar and flowers. Add sentiment strip. Embellish with butterfly cut with die in the Penny Black Flights of Fancy set (available on the Penny Black website).

Spellbinders | May 2022 Embossing Folder of the Month

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS birthday card created with the Spellbinders May 2022 Embossing Folder Membership “Faux Stitch.” I shared another card with this folder here.

Dry-emboss yellow, orange, pink, and blue cardstock with the May 2022 Embossing Folder. Cut circles from the panels.
Attach embossed circles to Snowdrift card base sized 5 x 7 inches.
Cut sentiment from Onyx and Snowdrift cardstock using dies in the Large Die of the Month Membership. Assemble and add to card base.

That’s it! A quick-and-easy birthday card that packs a lot of punch with color and texture.

Spellbinders | May 2022 Large Die of the Month

Hello and happy May (one of my favorite months)! I am sharing a faux-stitch, slimline card created with the May 2022 Large Die of the Month and the Embossing Folder of the Month Memberships at Spellbinders.

Dry-emboss coral slimline panel with the May 2022 Embossing Folder of the Month “Faux Stitch.” Attach to slimline card base.
Cut sentiment from Snowdrift and Brushed Gold cardstock with dies in the May 2022 Large Die of the Month “Stitched for You” set.
Back the stitching holes in the “you” with coral cardstock as a quick-and-easy alternative to stitching the holes.
Assemble sentiments and add to card base.
For embellishment, cut flowers, flower centers, and leaves with dies in the Be Bold Blooms, Mini Blooms and Sprigs, Lemon Zest, Kaleidoscope Argyle, and Kaleidoscope Floral Slimline sets from Snowdrift and Brushed Gold cardstock. Assemble and add to base.

Rubbernecker | Die-cut Underwater Scene

Hello! Today, I am sharing a friendship (or love) card created with Rubbernecker dies and stamp set. There are a number of occasions for which this card would work.

Create focal elements

Die-cut Tropical Fish from colored, white, and black cardstock; assemble. To inlay the eyes, remove eye of the fish body color, add tape to the back of the fish, and drop in black cardstock eye.
Die-cut small fish with the Sea Animals set from colored cardstock.
Die-cut the Submarine from colored and black cardstock. Only die-cut the portion of the submarine visible in the frame.
To add textural interest, heat-emboss pieces with clear embossing powder. With tweezers holding the die-cut piece, press piece into VersaMark ink pad, apply clear embossing powder, and heat emboss. (Technique used on fish stripes, fish fins, small fish, and submarine’s glass windows.)
Die-cut underwater vegetation from two shades of green cardstock with the Sea Kelp and Seaweed/Coral die sets.

Create frame and background

Die-cut the Slimline OPC Squares frame from white cardstock.
Stamp the Under the Sea #2 sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink on teal cardstock panel.
Add foam adhesive strips to frame. Trim sentiment panel and attach to the back of the frame.
Create slimline card base in dark teal cardstock.
Cut black cardstock 8 2/8 inches wide by 3 3/8 inches tall. Attach to card base.
Attach frame with sentiment panel to card base.

Assemble

Add elements – fish, seaweed, submarine – inside frame with dot adhesive and foam adhesive; trim elements as needed.

Rubbernecker | April 2022 Release Day Two

Hello! I am back sharing two more cards that feature the Rubbernecker April release. See my previous post here.

My first card showcases the Model A Truck on a masculine card.

I paired the Model A Truck with the Barn and a fun sentiment in the Dad Phrases set.

The scene background was created with the Peak Fence #4 and Slimline Grass.

My second card features one of the new cover plates – the Circle Stitch Cover die – on a CAS birthday card.

I paired the Circle Stitch Cover die with a heat-embossed sentiment in the Birthday Vase set.

After inlaying the colored panels in the white cardstock frame, I embellished the card with hearts cut with a die in the Shed Bird House set.
