Spellbinders | Elegant Poinsettia Tree Christmas Card

Hello! I am delighted to showcase the July 2023 Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Club set – “Layered Poinsettia Tree” – on an elegant Christmas card. The Christmas tree evokes a sense of timeless holiday tradition. Scroll for information on the Spellbinders Star Spangled Savings Event.

- With the set, I cut the tree, greenery, small flowers, poinsettias, and star from a range of materials including brushed white cardstock, brushed gold, and fern cardstock.
- Enhancing the festive atmosphere, I dry-embossed an arch, cut with the largest die in the Essential Arches set from Waterfall cardstock, using the Scattered Christmas folder. (This folder was the October 2022 Embossing Kit offering.) The arch was added to an A2-size card base of brushed gold cardstock.
- Completing the card is a sentiment, glimmer foiled in gold, which reads “Celebrate the Season.” The sentiment is positioned on a snowbank, cut with a die in the Color Block Scenic Scape set, serving as a grounding element for the tree.

Crafting Christmas Magic | Spellbinders Large Die of the Month

Hello! I am thrilled to share a delightful Christmas card featuring the July 2023 Spellbinders Large Die of the Month set – “Stocking Full of Joy.” A stocking symbolizes the anticipation and excitement of receiving gifts and the warmth of festive traditions. Expect to see a number of “Christmas in July” projects this month.

With this versatile die set, I cut the gingerbread person, a whimsical gnome, festive greenery, and a peppermint stick. To add texture and visual appeal, I used a range of materials including brushed white cardstock.

The assembled pieces were arranged on a dry-embossed background, measuring 5 x 7 inches, created from Teal Topaz cardstock with the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D folder. Note: the stocking does fit on an A2-size card base.

Adding a touch of elegance, I glimmer foiled the sentiment – “Believe in the Magic” – in gold.

To complete the card and reinforce the magical theme, I embellished with snowflakes cut from white glitter foam.

Spellbinders | Advent Calendar Day 24 + Clearance Sale

Hello! Today, I am sharing a Christmas card created with the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar Day 24 surprise – a pickup truck with presents. Today is the final window on the calendar. Check out the Spellbinders blog for more inspiration. Scroll down for information about the Christmas Clearance Sale that runs until 12/26/2022 Midnight MST.

Dry emboss Snowdrift cardstock with Flurry of Snowflakes 3D folder, trim, and add to card base.
Apply stencil paste through the Layered Christmas Tree stencil on Cosmic Sky cardstock, sprinkle on Sparkle Dust Glitter, and set aside to dry. Once dry, cut with arch in the Essential Arches set.
Glimmer foil Glitter Wishes sentiment on Snowdrift in Gold. Cut panel with arch in the Essential Arches set and Color Block Scenic Scape die. Add snowbank to stenciled sky and attach to card base.
Cut truck and presents, assemble, and add to scene.
Embellish with snowflakes. I grabbed some off my worktable!

Spellbinders | Holiday Birds + A Christmas Clearance Sale

As I look over the cards that I have made over the past eleven years, I can see that I am drawn to using birds as a focal item. Here are four I have created this year; click on the photo to go to the original post:

Lawn Fawn | Welcome Winter

Hello and happy winter (for those in the Northern Hemisphere)! We have snow on the ground and cold temps here in the Pacific Northwest. I am sharing a winter-themed card featuring a combination of Lawn Fawn products – dies, stencil, and stamp set.

Apply stencil paste through the Snowy Sky stencil on light-blue cardstock, sprinkle on Rock Candy Glitter, and set aside to dry. Once dry, add to card base.
Cut Snow Flurries Backdrop from white cardstock. I previously shared a card using the Snow Flurries Backdrop here.
Cut Foxy Family from Black Licorice, white, pink, and red-brown cardstock; assemble. I shared another card with the Foxy Family here.
Cut trees from Noble Fir and white cardstock. Darken one small tree with Rustic Wilderness ink. Add white backs to green fronts.
Stamp Snowball Fight sentiment on Noble Fir cardstock and cut with die in the Everyday Sentiment Banner set.
Cut hillside from white flocked cardstock with die in the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders set; trim as necessary.
Attach hillside to stenciled background, adhere Snow Flurries Backdrop.
Add foxes and tuck two of the trees behind the foxes. Attach smaller tree with foam adhesive.
Attach sentiment.
