Rubbernecker Frosty Fun – Die-cut Snowmen

Hello! After a massive wind and rainstorm, the temps have dropped here in the Pacific Northwest. Today I am sharing a winter-themed card created with Rubbernecker supplies (many of the products can now be found at Brass and Bliss). The card could be sent at Christmas, for a winter birthday, or to catch up with a friend.

Rubbernecker Frosty Fun - Die-cut Snowmen

  • I die-cut the Winter Snowmen from a variety of cardstock colors including cardstock to which I had applied Clear Rock Candy Glitter.
  • I stamped the Snowmen with Presents sentiment on a cardstock panel and trimmed it to fit behind the Deckle Frame.
  • I die-cut the Pine Tree Forest from white cardstock, trimmed it to fit behind the frame, and adhered the glitter with glue.
  • I added the frame and background assembly to white canvas cardstock.
  • The snowmen were added to the scene with foam adhesive.

For the first card, I die-cut the floral portion of the Large Die of the Month set three times and adhered the borders to a slimline card base from the same cardstock. I glimmer-foiled the Gifts of Christmas Sentiments sentiment in gold on a darker red cardstock. I die-cut the sentiment with a circle die and added an ornament holder (cut with a die in the Circle Kaleidoscope set).

On the second card, I combined dies in the Large Die of the Month set to cut Snowdrift cardstock. I die-cut a piece of Brushed Gold to back the detailed open area. I die-cut navy cardstock with another die in the set and added that piece to the top. I added the assembly to a Brushed Silver card base. I decorated the card with Santa and reindeer and a sentiment, cut with dies in the Silent Night set, adding a small Gold Gem to the nose of the lead reindeer.

Penny Black Making Spirits Bright

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with a Penny Black stamp from the Making Spirits Bright release and a previously-released die.

Penny Black Making Spirits Bright

I stamped the 30-864 Bright Spirits greenery and sentiment with pigment inks on white cardstock. Once dry, I trimmed the border and added the panel to a red cardstock base.

I die-cut the 51-557 Reindeer Leaps from gold foil and added it to the center with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders Fluted Classics Collection by Becca Feeken

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards created with products from the just-launched Fluted Classics Collection by Becca Feeken at  Spellbinders. My cards use the Circles and Squares sets. There are ovals, slimlines, and rectangles in the collection as well. While I created holiday cards, these designs are timeless and can be used for any number of occasions.

On the first card, I used the Circles and Squares as frames. The sets contain the fluted detail and outline dies for flexibility in how they are used.

On the second card, I used the Squares as a frame and as a border to a die in the All Is Calm Word Frame set.

Tim Holtz Cozy Winter Tags

Hello! Today I am sharing two versions of a holiday tag featuring the Tim Holtz Cozy Winter bear. I previously shared a card featuring the bear here.

Tim Holtz Cozy Winter Tags

I used a die in the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tag Collection set to create the tag base, cutting cardstock to which I had applied Distress Oxide ink.

On both tags, I used the Flurries stencil, varying the method by which I created the snowflakes. For the tag on the left, I applied Transfer Gel through the stencil. Once dry, I ran the tag through my Minc with Flock Transfer (now called Deco Foil Plush Paper, White Latte).

For the tag on the right, I applied white embossing paste through the stencil and sprinkled it with Clear Rock Candy glitter.

In addition to changing up the color of cardstocks I used to create the bears, I changed up the sentiment as well. For the first bear, I stamped the Bold Tidings Mini sentiment on to white cardstock and cut it with a Spellbinders Color Block Scenic Scape die.

On the other, I added Clear Rock Candy glitter to white cardstock (with double-sided adhesive), cut the cardstock with the Spellbinders Color Block Scenic Scape die, and added a sentiment cut with the Alphanumeric Bold set, from cardstock to which I had applied Broken China Glaze.

The Cozy Winter set includes a mug for the bear to hold. I swapped out the mug for a present, cut with the Christmas Minis set. I cut the present from cardstock to which I had applied Broken China Glaze and cardstock which I had heat-embossed with Red Tinsel embossing powder. I cut the scarf from these same two pieces.

I really enjoy using the same design while varying the ways in which I create the elements.
