Spellbinders Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Hello! Today, I am sharing a papercrafting project – cupcake toppers created with the Spellbinders Open House Boo! set, part of their Halloween Collection. The cupcakes are pumpkin spice!

  • Die-cut bats, ghosts, and cat with dies in the Open House Boo! set from Snowdrift cardstock and glitter cardstock (Stampin’ Up black glitter). Die-cut sentiments twice each for dimension. Assemble pieces as required.
  • Die-cut 2-inch circles (with the detail and outline dies) from colored paper (Echo Park Halloween Magic) using the Essential Circles set (back with Onyx cardstock circles).
  • Attach elements  to circles; attach circles to wooden skewers. Add to cupcakes!

Spellbinders Halloween – Boo!

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards created with the just-released Halloween Collection at Spellbinders. Spellbinders has added Halloween-themed die sets to the previously-released Open House CollectionOpen House Halloween and Open House Boo!. I shared Christmas cards created with the Open House Collection here and here. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I am delighted with these additions!

Spellbinders Halloween - Boo!

Spellbinders Halloween - Boo!

The first card measures 6 inches tall by 6 1/4 inches wide when fully opened. When closed, the card is 3 1/8 inches wide. I used 12 inch x 12 inch double-sided patterned paper for the base. The paper was scored so that two panels open to reveal the Halloween door (including Side Panels) in the center, with pumpkins, ghosts, and a scary cat on the sides. I covered the front and back with coordinating patterned paper (the back side of the pattern used on the inside would not have worked for the front).

I cut the sentiment for the front (twice for depth) with the dies in the Open House Boo! set, which I added to a rectangle closure. I used the Open House Topiary set to cut the pots on the front of the card in which to place the ghosts.

I die-cut elements from both the Open House Halloween and Open House Boo! sets to decorate the door and the interior panels.

The second card combines Halloween elements with the Sweet Shoppe set. I previously used that die set here. I envisioned a store window decorated ghoulishly for the holidays.

I used patterned paper for my base and added a rectangle cut from coordinating paper to mat the store front window frame.

To decorate the shop, I die-cut elements from both the Open House Halloween and Open House Boo! sets. I die-cut the sentiment twice, offsetting the bottom layer (as a drop shadow).

Spellbinders Haunted Manor

Hello! I am sharing a CAS, elegant, Halloween-themed card created with Spellbinders products. The card combines two of my favorite techniques: die-cutting and glimmer-foiling. I am also sharing info below about a sale on Spellbinders Past Club Kits.

Spellbinders Haunted Manor

  • I cut the Haunted Manor from black cardstock and backed it with metallic cardstock.
  • I cut the frame using a die in the Nested Clipped Squares set from a patterned paper rectangle and backed it with metallic cardstock for the card base. I cut a smaller clipped square from another piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the center of the opening.
  • I glimmer foiled the sentiment using the Spooking Greetings set in Gold. I cut the strip using a die in the Everyday Sentiments II set. I adhered the strip to the card base.
  • I added the assembled manor to the center of the opening with foam adhesive.
  • I cut the bats from black glitter paper with dies in the Witch on Broom set and added them to the scene with foam adhesive.

What I like about this card: I like the elegant take on Halloween and the pairing of the patterned papers with black and gold. I like this Stampin’ Up Halloween paper so much that I bought more!
